Welcome to Spring Semester!

Hi, there!
At the start of a new year and a new semester, we're eager to welcome the students back, while remaining #HealthyTogether. More international students are joining us this semester. The Education Abroad office is planning a fun quest to gain knowledge and skills for studying abroad or away (details coming soon!) And our Spring 2021 MUDEC students are settling in for their semester in Luxembourg. There is much to celebrate.
Global Initiatives staff will continue to meet remotely with students this semester via phone, Zoom or Google Meet. And as a friendly reminder, be sure to schedule your passport appointment with us as soon as possible!

The Semester Begins

We are launching our new semester, welcoming some 68 students. Thank you to everyone—students, faculty, and staff from both sides of the ocean—for their commitment and support to our program. We know it will be a challenge, but we are always ready to face the unexpected, and to make the semester an unforgettable one for all of us.
If you'd like to study, engage, and travel at MUDEC, Fall MUDEC applications are due March 1. Visit MiamiOH.edu/MUDEC to learn more.

Rebecca Rader

Did you know these fun facts about Rebecca Rader?

If you've visited MacMillan Hall for a passport or other services, you might have been greeted by  Rebecca Rader, Program Associate in Global Initiatives. Here are some fun facts about Rebecca:
  • I started at Miami in 2002 at the Student Health Center, working in the laboratory and X-ray, until I chose to come to Global Initiatives in September 2017.
  • Working with students is by far my favorite aspect of working at Miami.
  • I married my high school sweetheart and I have one daughter who is a current Miami student.
  • We love to camp and meet local people and find local favorites. After retirement, I hope to hit the open road with the love of my life, finding new adventure along the way.
  • As a family, we have a long passion for helping young kids enjoy 4H and the agricultural world.  We love to help them learn and grow.
  • I rely a lot on faith & my religion. Live simply, forgive often and just love one another.
