Almost There!
We are closer than ever to the launch of the new Joe Davis Stadium. Set to open May 19, the 6,000-seat stadium will feature new artificial turf field, a video scoreboard, sound system, press box, locker rooms, restrooms and concessions. The Joe will also include LED sports lighting, terraced seating and a new upper terrace.
Not only will Joe Davis Stadium be home to a professional soccer team, but it will also offer space for high school football, soccer, lacrosse, sports clinics and special events. We are fortunate to have such a treasure in our community and hope you check it out soon.

Roadway Safety Initiative
With so many new residents in our community, we have thousands more cars, trucks, bikes, motorcycles and pedestrians moving around the Rocket City than a decade ago. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize more people on our roads equals more crashes.
To help reduce accidents, Huntsville’s Planning Department is taking a close look at how to make roads safer through Vision Zero. Get details and take an online survey below.

All Things Panoply
Council Member Kling and his wife, Tanjie, enjoyed participating in Panoply festivities this past weekend in Big Spring Park. Kudos to Arts Huntsville, the City's Parks & Recreation Department and other partners for hosting such a stellar event.
Saving Places
It’s that time again. Throughout May, the City of Huntsville will partner with local organizations and businesses to celebrate our community’s historic places and heritage.
Join us May 1-31 for Historic Preservation Month, an annual event that promotes the social and economic benefits of historic preservation. Spearheaded by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the observance seeks to heighten awareness about the wonderful buildings and places that are part of our shared history.

A Work in Progress
Construction on the new Huntsville City Hall remains on track and it's being built with sustainability in mind. The new downtown facility will consolidate departments into one location with open, efficient floor plans, state-of-the-art building systems and all LED lighting. The adjoining parking garage will even have the capacity for future EV chargers.
