| Teacher Fellows – I'm thrilled to share that two RPS teachers have been selected to serve as Teacher Fellows for the Valentine Museum. Dre'mon Miller, criminal justice teacher from the Richmond Technical Center, and Meaghan Rymer, 7th grade U.S. history teacher from River City Middle School, will spend this summer using the museum's exhibitions and archives to develop new instructional resources for teachers across RPS. Congratulations!

| Cybersecurity Program – The RPS Career and Technical Education program – in collaboration with Virginia State University, Virginia Commonwealth University, and CodeRVA – will offer free summer programming to current 9th - 11th grade students interested in cybersecurity. If you'd like to participate, make sure to apply right away – the deadline is tomorrow, May 26!

| PSAT/NMSQT Testing – All current 9th grade students are eligible to take the PSAT/NMSQT this fall for free! This is a great opportunity to practice for the SAT and earn scholarships. The deadline to sign up is Wednesday, June 7.

| Piano Delivery at Boushall – This week, students at Boushall MS proudly accepted delivery of a brand new Yamaha piano, courtesy of the Broadberry. We can't wait to hear the Eagles play!

- I would like to give a wholehearted shout-out to Ms. Dunn, Ms. A. Smith, Ms. Hope, and Ms. Nihill at Overby-Sheppard! Thank you for your collaboration with colleagues and your dedication to your students. We are so fortunate to work with you and learn from you!
- Thank you to Mrs. Davis-Waller and Mrs. Carol Smith for assisting our fourth graders with an engaging small group experience during math. Your partnership has been invaluable and we appreciate the support you have provided to us this year at Overby-Sheppard.
- I just took a few moments to watch the RPS Shines videos from yesterday's RPS Direct, and just have to say wow! I loved getting to meet these amazing educators outside of my home RPS school, and applaud all RPS faculty and staff on an amazing school year! The work you do every day is making a difference in our children's lives and the greater community – you are so appreciated and valued.
- Major shout-out to the George Wythe Boys Soccer Team! They have not only made it into the playoffs after a tough season (and year of school!), but they've also won their first-round playoff game! The boys have put in a lot of hard work with the support of Coaches Berryhill, Thompson and Dolson. It's been a joy to watch them persevere, develop strategy, and strengthen comradery. We can't wait to see them finish out their historic season!
- I would like to send a huge shout-out to both Mrs. Tomika Easter-Hayden and Mrs. Melissa Chasteen in the Procurement Department. For a project in which their expertise was needed, I would not have been able to meet the deadline without them. All of their hard work and going the extra mile has not gone unnoticed. This was teamwork at its best!!! I really appreciate both of you, as you are truly assets to the RPS Family!!!!
- Shout-out to the best third grade team ever at Cardinal Elementary School. You guys are absolutely warriors! You could have given up, but you didn’t. You model courage to your students by fighting through adversity. I’m happy to fight alongside you anytime!
- Shout-out to the staff at Bellevue Elementary! I’m continually impressed with the level of teamwork here. I’ve had many opportunities to see it in action since coming to BES this year and it has been very much appreciated during our SOL testing. This is what teamwork looks like!
- Shout-out to Ms. Jafri at Bellevue Elementary for her dedication to being a loving and caring IA. She’s been an asset to my classroom.
- Shout-out to Mx. Small at Bellevue Elementary for taking the time out to facilitate a special art project with BES staff. We enjoyed it and appreciate you!
- A huge shout-out to Principal Jacobs, Asst. Principal Oliver, Office Admin Sharon Gilbert, and the entire William Fox Staff & PTA. I am blessed to have had the opportunity to work with all of them. I must admit that I've gained much more from them than I could have ever imagined. And much more than they will ever know. My deepest gratitude for the warm welcome, support, kindness and most of all, respect!!! Each of them have left an everlasting impact on my life. For Fox is Love!!!!
- The Secondary Success Center celebrated our grads during our last in-person night for a couple of weeks! We have 8 seniors graduating so far with a few more finishing up!
