| Vinny the Great 'Greyhuahua'
Big Love in a Small Package
When Kimberly first met Vinny, he was a seven-month-old Italian Greyhound/Chihuahua mix living with her dear friend John. Dubbed John's "good luck charm," Vinny delighted everyone he met and enjoyed more than a decade with his owner until John passed in 2021.

Our Mission, by the numbers... |
|
|
In March, we received 487 requests totaling just shy of $1.5 million in requested funds. So far in April, we have received 452 requests totaling roughly $1.3 million in requested funds.
Based on Chart 1, we have been able to assist 170 families with our Education Program this year. Chart 2 demonstrates that we have funded 15 families directly with one active application in process.
In March, we offered 8 Initial Vet Visit Approval Letters, but only one family took advantage.
At the moment, we have discontinued funding as all reserves are exhausted.
Your gift will make a difference at this very moment!

LIVING THROUGH GIVING SPOTLIGHT ON DOG MOM LIFESTYLES and JOCELYN MIZRAHI -- “I never want someone to have to choose between life and death because they just needed some financial help,” she said. “That to me is such an unfair choice in today’s world.” |

Jocelyn Mizrahi’s Dog Mom Lifestyles
Improving the Lives of Pets and Their Parents
Since the inception of Brown Dog, we’ve had many wonderful donors give to us in a variety of ways. Some donate a one-time gift; others give through our Monthly Fetch Program. A favorite way that many people find the most rewarding to give is by creating fundraisers for their birthdays, weddings, and celebrations of life. These special commitments raise both money and awareness, and the payoffs are out-of-this-world. Just knowing you’ve done something to save the lives of people’s pets is the best gift you can give yourself.
One long-time benefactor, Jocelyn Mizrahi, has committed to Brown Dog in numerous ways—from participating in our Monthly Fetch program, to creating a fundraiser for Brown Dog to celebrate her wedding, to donating proceeds from sales of her company’s Dog Mom Lifestyles monthly Subscription Box. We encourage you to check out her website, dogmomlifestyles.com, for fabulous treats for you and your pet.
In honor of Jocelyn and others who’ve helped us save hundreds of cats, dogs and reptiles through their generosity, Brown Dog is proud to announce our Living Through Giving Campaign.
We are honored to name Jocelyn one of the founding members of our Living through Giving Campaign. Members of this group who reach a donation of $1000 annually receive 2 tickets to our Patrons Wine Dinner in Nashville, Tennessee, along with the gratitude of all the pets and owners that Brown Dog has helped over the years. In the ten years since Jocelyn, her husband, Daniel McCray, and her businesses have supported Brown Dog Foundation, together they have raised or donated more than $10,000 to help us save nearly 2000 dogs and cats across this nation!

On Sunday, October 22, 2023, the Board of Directors will once again host the 17th Annual Brown Dog Foundation Patrons Wine Dinner.
We invite you to mark your calendar for this 5-course Vintner's Style Dinner, curated by Morton's Steakhouse in Nashville, Tennessee. Brown Dog founder and self-proclaimed oenophile, Carol Smock, has sourced some fantastic fine wines from Gorman Winery in Washington State for this dinner. Learn more about this stellar winery that has caught the attention of the nation's best critics at gormanwinery.com.
The evening will feature a special menu created by Chef Pedro to pair specifically for the Red Mountain wines we've selected, a High / Low Auction of 2 Sets of the Wines featured, laughter and delightful conversation. We may even get to enjoy an acoustic set by Recording Artist and Broadway Actor, Brennin Hunt. Most importantly, this event raises funds to help save the lives of pets across the nation.
So prepare for a good time for an even better cause. You may even get to take home a doggie bag!

Bridging the gap between the cost of medical care and saving the family pet.
Since 2006, Brown Dog Foundation has helped nearly 1700 families across the nation save their pet's life. Through our programs we educate about alternative treatment options, we refer families to lower cost veterinarians or pharmaceutical suppliers or we provide funding for life-saving treatments.
