More Ways We Celebrate Exceptional Service
At PDX, we love celebrating the moments that really shine – the ones that reflect what we’re all about: being friendly, knowledgeable, and respectful.
Last week, we talked about the PDX People Customer Service Awards. But guess what? That’s just one of the ways we recognize the amazing work you do. Here are some other ways we acknowledge great service:
Annual Excellence in Service Awards
Each year, we throw a special event to celebrate standout employees, selected by their teams to be honored as customer service "superstars." It’s a night to remember: Winners are invited to a festive evening with managers and colleagues to highlight their hard work over the past year.
PDX People Appreciation Week
Every September, we dedicate a whole week to celebrating you! Think food trucks, music, swag, and good vibes all around.
On-the-Spot Recognition
Sometimes great service happens in the moment...and we’re ready for it! Managers have envelopes with $10 gift cards to PDX shops and restaurants, ready to hand out on the spot to say thanks when someone goes above and beyond.
Want to learn more about PDX People recognition? Check out the recognition programs and read about past winners on the PDX People website. What's New with PDX Next: Gate C5 Construction Caution and Concourse E Work
Gate C5: Pedestrians continue to access the closed construction area near Gate C5. As a reminder, access to this area is restricted to construction and emergency services personnel wearing personal protective equipment who have a business need to be in the area. Cutting through a construction zone is extremely hazardous and in violation of Port of Portland rules.
Concourse E: Now through Friday, Feb. 6, work will occur on Concourse E while crews remove the temporary alternate exit ramp and exterior tents, re-install the old FID structure, and commission and decommission doors. The United Lounge’s current emergency egress route will be maintained at all times and temporary signage will be in place to direct passengers.
Looking for more PDX Next information? We're keeping you in the know on what's new on the PDX People website. Have questions or suggestions about construction? Email hello@pdxnext.com or call the construction hotline at 503.460.4339.

Bypass demolition is now underway.
PDX in Pictures
Last Tuesday was a big day at PDX: The South Bypass officially closed, which means a more direct, easier walk to and from Concourse B.
Brian Burk with the Port of Portland captured the top photo of early morning light reflecting off the sparkling terrazzo floors as work continues on the tenant spaces. The Port of Portland's Dave Stanton snapped the bottom pic of bypass demolition now underway.
Up next: The North Bypass will close in early March, bringing smoother, shorter paths to and from Concourse E. Check out this map to see the completed flow.
