This Week is Sex Health Week

It's the sexiest time of the year! The Sex Health Reps are hosting 10+ events this week on the Medford campus; see full details on Instagram @TuftsSHR or on JumboLife. Show off your knowledge (or lack thereof lol) at Sexy Trivia and win prizes. Learn about trans and nonbinary sexual health at our discussion event (featuring hot chocolate). Housing Selection Information Sessions

With housing group formation and selection only a short while away, the Office of Residential Life and Learning is offering a series of Housing Selection Information sessions to help you during the process. Join us Monday, March 6, at 6 p.m.; Wednesday, March 8, at 2 p.m.; or Thursday, March 9, at 6 p.m. via Zoom. Sessions will be recorded for future viewing! The Zoom link will be available on the Application and Lottery web page by 12 noon on the day of the session.

Global Research Assistant Program (GRAP) Zoom Office Hours

GRAP provides the opportunity for Tufts students to work with Tufts faculty members on PAID international research projects during the summer. On Wednesday, March 8, at 12 noon–1 p.m., drop by and chat with GRAP faculty members about their research opportunities in Greece, India, Jamaica, and Malaysia. This informal session is a great time to learn more about the projects and ask any questions. Learn more and apply for the program by March 15!

Celebrate Lawrence Uricchio's Installation as the Youniss Family Professor of Innovation

On Wednesday, March 8, at 4 p.m., President Anthony P. Monaco invites you to celebrate the establishment of the Youniss Family Professorship of Innovation featuring a lecture by the inaugural Youniss Family Professor of Innovation, Lawrence Uricchio, Ph.D., on "Evolutionary Genetics as a Prospective Discipline." Reception to follow in the Coolidge Room, Ballou Hall.

International Women's Day Celebration With Dr. Sima Samar

This event will take place on Wednesday, March 8, at 5:30–7:30 p.m. Sima Samar, MD, is an Afghan woman and human rights advocate, activist, and social worker. She served as minister of women's affairs of Afghanistan from December 2001 to July 2002 and as the chairperson of the Afghan Independent Human Rights Commission from 2002 to 2019. She was awarded the Right Livelihood Award for "her longstanding and courageous dedication to human rights, especially the rights of women, in one of the most complex and dangerous regions in the world."

Diabetes Network Meeting

This Wednesday, March 8, Tufts Chapter of The Diabetes Link is meeting at 7 p.m. in Cummings Center Room 502. Follow our Instagram @tuftsdiabeteslink, email list, and GroupMe for a full list of event dates. Come meet other students in college with diabetes, help plan other events, and make friends who just get it. See you there!

Productive Tension: Hands-On Steps to Fossil Fuel Abolition

No Coal, No Gas is a regional network working to shut down New England’s last large coal-fired power plant. In this talk, organizers Kendra Ford and Isaac Petersen will discuss power, pressure, and culture as key components of productive tension that result in structural change. Join us on Thursday, March 9, at 12 noon–1 p.m. at the Curtis Hall Multipurpose Room or virtually. Free pizza will be served! This event is part of Tufts Environmental Studies' weekly environmental lectures.

Farmers' Market Trip

In need of some quality groceries or just want some delicious, local food? Join the Eco Reps on a trip to Somerville's Winter Farmers' Market on Saturday, March 11, at 11 a.m. to support local vendors. The cost for public transportation and a free sampling afterwards is on us! We hope to see you there.

Apply for the Honos Civicus Society!

The Honos Civicus Society is an award that selects and recognizes graduating students who have excelled academically and as civic leaders in their studies at Tufts. This opportunity is open to all graduating students across all Tufts schools. Honos Civicus inductees are honored during a special ceremony alongside their peers. Academic Reminders

Internal Transfer Information Sessions This Week
A&S to Engineering: Wednesday, March 8, at 12 noon–1 p.m. on Zoom. The SoE Senior Academic Advisors will review graduation requirements for Engineers and the internal transfer process and criteria to prepare you for a successful internal transfer.
Engineering to A&S: Thursday, March 9, at 2–3 p.m. on Zoom. The A&S Senior Academic Advisors will review the A&S degree requirements, as well as the internal transfer process and criteria.

Apply to be a Mental Health Rep

Are you interested in student mental health and wellbeing? Apply to be a Mental Health Rep! MHRs are paid peer educators who work with Counseling and Mental Health Service (CMHS) to create programming, do outreach, and reduce mental health stigma at Tufts. Apply by March 12 at 11:59 p.m., and email mentalhealthreps@tufts.edu if you have any questions.

Register for the Undergraduate Research and Scholarship Symposium

Registration for the Undergraduate Research Symposium is now OPEN! This is a great opportunity for students to share their research and advance their presentation skills (as well as something that will look great on a resume). The deadline to register is April 14.
