Welcome to the latest edition of the Sydney Cancer Partners Newsletter.

Call for reviewers

We are seeking expressions of interest from eary-mid career through to senior researchers to assist with the reviewing process for funding applications. If you would like an opportunity to refine your reviewing skills and contribute to Sydney Cancer Partners please email us with your contact information, current role and research area.

Inaugural NSW Cancer Conference 2022 success!

More than 370 delegates gathered on 15-16 September at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth for the inaugural NSW Cancer Conference, an event showcasing the strength and breadth of cancer research in NSW and beyond, through high-calibre presentations from international, interstate, and local speakers, incorporating perspectives from across the translational research continuum.

The program featured a broad spectrum of cancer research endeavours – including basic biomedical, public health, clinical and psychosocial – making the latest information and research available to researchers, clinicians, students and consumers. Research was shared and new collaborations formed through plenary and keynote presentations, oral and poster presentations selected from submitted abstracts, and interactive panel discussions and workshops.

NSW Cancer Conference 2023

Planning is underway for the NSW Cancer Conference 2023, hosted by NSW Regional Health Partners. If you are interested in joining the organising committee for next year's event please let us know via email.

NSW Cancer Research Seminar Series

SCP in conjunction with NSW Regional Health Partners and Maridulu Budyari Gumul (SPHERE), are pleased to sponsor the NSW Cancer Research Seminar Series. Seminars are scheduled for the 3rd Tuesday of every month.

Next Meeting 15 November, 12.30 - 1.30pm

The program will include a Molecular Tumour Board session each quarter. Please contact us if you have interesting cases to present, would like to be part of a Discussion panel, or would like to be involved in other ways.

NHMRC Investigator Grant Success

Congratulations to the Sydney Cancer Partners members who have been awarded funding in the recently announced 2022 National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Investigator Grants. Read more

New Implementation Science Team at Sydney Health Partners Takes the Reins

Sydney Health Partners has completed the new leadership team for its Implementation Science Program. The three leaders will provide support to SHP’s Clinical Academic Groups and oversee the Research Translation Fellowship program, and lead the online implementation science Community of Practice, which has over 800 members from across Australia. They will also lead Sydney Health Partners’ annual implementation science conference, host regular masterclasses and workshops, and manage the annual SHP pilot grant scheme. More information

Call for papers to a new article collection - “Digital Health Quality, Acceptability, and Cost: Steps to Effective Continuity of Cancer Care”

The aim of the collection is to bring together the latest quality articles from researchers working in this area. All research will be published in Open Access. The editing team additionally aim to put together a free eBook of all published manuscripts to provide an up-to-date and comprehensive overview of the latest research developments in the field.
