This fall, the Carleton Book Club is honored to feature A Pair of Wings by Carole Hopson. It's a riveting and adventurous novel inspired by the remarkable true life of pioneer aviatrix Bessie Coleman, a Black woman who learned to fly at the dawn of aviation and found freedom in the air. The reading period begins on October 10 and ends on December 12.
“It is so rich and nuanced, both in the historical background and in Bessie’s remarkable character, relationships, and challenges, that it deserves to be a bestseller. Highly recommended.”—Historical Novels Review
