Upcoming Fall Break Information |
|
|
Dear Student,
We hope you are looking forward to the upcoming fall break! There are no classes on Wednesday, November 27, and the university is closed on Thursday, November 28, and Friday, November 29. Please note the following important details.
|
If you are traveling during the break, attend all of your classes as usual, including your last class before fall break starts and the first one after it ends. Professors are advised to not give excused absences for students who leave early or return late, nor are they required to provide you with an opportunity to make up class work you missed due to your travel plans. After fall break, students are expected to resume all of their in-person courses in person, as there are still seven instructional days left of the fall semester, plus reading period and exams. Professors are not authorized to arrange informal accommodations to allow students to study remotely. If you have a disability that prevents you from returning to campus, connect with the Student Accessibility and Academic Resources (StAAR) Center to determine what accommodations may be reasonable.

Housing, Dining, and Facility Hours during Fall Break |
- All students who live in the residence halls are welcome to stay in their regular assignment on campus for all or part of fall break. There is no additional cost and no permission needed.
-
All dining locations will be closed during the break; Carmichael, Dewick, and Commons will reopen for dinner on December 1: regular dining hours continue through the end of service on November 26 and will resume after reopening on December 1. Please plan for meals accordingly.
- Students who are eligible for meal money support during fall break have received a separate message with detailed information about accessing that support.
- Tisch Library, Mayer Campus Center, Tisch Fitness Center, and other locations on campus will be operating with reduced hours or will be closed during fall break.
- A full list of break hours is available on the fall break web page.

Fall break is a great time for rest, a change of pace, time with friends and family, and reflection. We wish you a safe, healthy, and enjoyable break!
All the best,
