Welcome, Transfer Students!
|
|
|
Congratulations on your acceptance to Washington University in St. Louis! As you prepare for your transition to WashU, Student Transitions & Engagement is here to help you throughout the process.
Welcome to the first spring 2025 transfer student newsletter from WashU! The Bear Bulletin is a monthly newsletter sent to all students. You will receive special editions leading up to your arrival and throughout orientation. This first special edition contains important information about upcoming dates and deadlines, Winter Welcome, and more. Please note, next week's Bear Bulletin will only be sent to your WashU email account. This is the last time we will be using your personal email address.
We encourage you to review New Bearings: A Guide for Transfer Students and the Winter Welcome block schedule to prepare for orientation and your time at WashU. If you have any questions, please reach out to your academic advisor or Student Transitions & Engagement.
We are excited to welcome you to campus soon!

Introducing Student Transitions & Engagement |
Student Transitions & Engagement supports new students through their academic and social transition into the WashU community.
Each transfer student is assigned a WashU Student Associate (WUSA), an orientation leader and peer mentor employed by our office. These peer mentors will lead small groups during Winter Welcome and serve as a resource to you throughout the spring semester. A WUSA will call you on January 7, before you arrive, to introduce themselves and answer any questions you may have.
Follow us on Instagram to connect with your peers and the WashU community!

Move-in Day and Winter Welcome |
Winter Welcome, the orientation program to welcome new transfer and exchange students to campus before the spring semester, will take place from January 8-12.
Transfer students will move-in on Wednesday, January 8. Students living in Residential Life-managed housing can move-in to their residence halls between 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. All new transfer students must arrive on campus by 5:00 PM on Wednesday, January 8.
For more information about move-in, please reference the Residential Life website.

|
Housing applications are currently open and are reviewed on a rolling basis. If you are interested in living in Residential Life-managed housing, complete the Housing Application in the WashU Pathway as soon as possible. Transfer students still in their first year are required to live in Residential-Life managed housing. All questions related to housing and the Housing Application should be directed to Residential Life.
For those choosing to live in non-Residential Life-managed housing, visit Apartment Referral Services.
Residential Life strongly recommends that all students obtain renter's insurance prior to their move-in date either through our partner, GradGuard, or another provider.

Students will be added to a Canvas course that will walk them through the College of Arts & Sciences registration process and what the academic transition to WashU will entail. With any questions, contact transfer@wustl.edu.
