As we plan for the year ahead, we want to express our sincere gratitude for your commitment to our mission during the past year. Creating a region that welcomes, celebrates, and retains professionals of color is our highest priority and one we can not accomplish without your support. This year, we partnered with more than 30 organizations from various sectors to deliver high quality DEI programming and create countless opportunities for professionals of color to meet and collaborate.
With your support, we look forward to continuing this work in 2024 and finding innovative ways to create stronger workplaces that provide inclusive and fulfilling experiences for professionals of color in our region.

Participate in the Portland State University and Partners in Diversity DEI IMPACTS Research Project
We want to invite you to participate in the DEI IMPACTS research project, a collaboration between Portland State University (PSU) and Partners in Diversity to understand the effectiveness of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives in Oregon and SW Washington. By participating in this project at no cost to you, you'll not only gain free valuable insights into the effectiveness of your DEI policies, but also contribute to a broader understanding of best practices in the region. With this project, we hope to answer:
|
- What is the current state of DEI policy and practice in Oregon and SW Washington organizations?
-
What are the tangible, bottom-line benefits of effective DEI policy/practice for organizations?
- Which policies and practices have the biggest impacts on employee well-being, retention, and commitment?
|
Once You Participate, You'll Receive:
|
- A free report compiled for your organization summarizing key indicators of DEI policy success
-
Access to the full regional report, allowing you to compare your organization’s outcomes to other organizations in the area and understand common challenges and solutions
-
A clear signal of commitment to outcomes-driven DEI policy. By partnering with independent researchers, your employees will know you value their unfiltered feedback and you are committed to understanding the impacts of the policies and practices you’ve spent time and money implementing.
|
To learn more about this research project, please attend an information session with the researchers in person or virtually. Please complete this intake form to schedule your info session. The last opportunity to participate is February 2024.
If you are interested in participating in this research or have any additional questions, please reach out to hello@partnersindiversity.org.

Exploring the Importance of Community at Our Last CRG Event
To commemorate the year, our four Community Resource Groups (CRGs) came together last month for our last community event of the year. Gathered at the Wieden+Kennedy office, participants listened to a panel discussion on why building community is necessary for professionals of color and the professional as well as personal benefits that come from maintaining our networks. Staying connected to others allows us to share and exchange ideas, access resources, and keeps us inspired to pursue our individual missions.
If you haven't already, we encourage you to register for a CRG and join us for an event this year. We currently offer groups for the Asian Pacific Islander, Black, Latino, and Native American communities. Events are free to attend, happen quarterly, and offer more intimate networking opportunities for you to stay connected and meet other members from your community. Click the button below to register and start building your community.
