Staff Interviews

Interviews will be conducted in Austin, Texas. Regional Director, Billy Suess, as well as members of the Regional Leadership Team will conduct interviews. Spouses and fiancées are encouraged to be a part of the interview. Interviews are first-come, first-serve and will last roughly one hour. We are asking applicants who live in the Greater Austin area to interview earlier in the day to accommodate travel for applicants driving from further distances across our region.

Application Process for Post College Graduates and/or Working Professionals

We are so excited that you are interested in joining Young Life staff, an organization that has pursued kids for Jesus all over the world for over 75 years.  Please read the packet below, which contains important information on hiring timelines, job descriptions, salaries, etc., and prayerfully consider where God is calling you.
Prospective Staff Information Packet
We need the following from each applicant prior to the interview:
  1. One page testimony detailing how you began a personal relationship with Christ and why you want to join Young Life staff
  2. Resume including education, work and ministry experience
  3. Field Staff Application (Download, complete and save to your computer)
  4. Answers to Questions for Staff Candidates (Download, answer, and save to your computer)
  5. Two (2) Character References – one from someone who knows you well and can speak of your ministry style and experience and one from a Young Life staff person with whom you have served

After our team reviews your application, we will call you and let you know what's next.

Application Process for Area Directors
(3rd year staff or other qualified candidates)

If you have NOT previously served on Young Life staff or have served on Young Life more than 3 years ago:

  1. Submit a one page testimony of how you began a personal relationship with Christ and why you want to join Young Life staff
  2. Resume including education, work and ministry experience
  3. Field Staff Application (Download, complete and save to your computer)
  4. Answers to Questions for Area Director Applicants (Download, answer, and save to your computer)
  5. Two (2) Character References – if possible, one from a Young Life area director or a regional director with whom you have served
If you are currently on Young Life staff or have served on Young Life staff in the past 3 years:
  1. Submit a one page testimony of how you began a personal relationship with Christ and why you want to join Young Life staff
  2. Resume including education, work and ministry experience
  3. You do NOT have to submit a staff application
  4. Answers to Questions for Area Director Applicants (Download, answer, and save to your computer)
  5. Two (2) Character References – regional director and committee chair
For 3rd Year Central Texas Region Staff Associates:
  • You will undergo an assessment in January to determine the appropriate next step in your career in Young Life (stay in the area, transition to another area/ region, or transition off of staff)
  • The paperwork required for this assessment is the Year 3 Staff Assessment Questions (Download, answer, and save to your computer)
