Hello, Fellow Dog Lovers!

Wow, February has been flying by! Especially since I've got some very exciting news to share -- I'm going to be back on TV in the UK! You'll find all the information about the project, Dogs Might Fly, later in the newsletter.

I'm also looking forward to welcoming my first class of students for the inaugural Dog Trainer Course at my Victoria Stilwell Academy for Dog Training & Behavior later this week. We've just opened up registration to our second class which begins this May, so if you want to learn to be a dog trainer with me, please consider joining us!

A tribute to K-9 Falco of the Habersham County Sheriff's Department.

We're sad to say goodbye to a brave member of our Guardians of the Night series, K-9 Falco. Falco was a military veteran and then went on to serve the Habersham County Sheriff's Department with his beloved handler, Deputy Johnathan Thomas. 

K-9 Falco was an incredible friend, protector, and partner who will be missed by everyone who knew him. 

As a society, humans revel in their ability to make choices. We make them every day, many times a day. Cream or sugar or both? Hot or iced? Shower or bath?

Yet we expect most other species to do our bidding as we see fit, when we see fit. This is especially prevalent with the human/canine relationship. Dogs, as a general rule, are very forgiving. They accept what we dish out. But shouldn’t they get some say over what their worlds consist of?

The world of dog training has made leaps and bounds in the last couple of decades, but still the choices that are offered to dogs are few compared to what we humans enjoy.
