SCHULICH ALUMNI NEWSLETTER
October 2024
| |
| Greetings fellow Schulich Alumni,
The Fall 2024 semester at the Schulich School of Business is off to a fantastic start!
We kicked things off with our signature INEŌ Orientation Week last month, where we welcomed our newest cohort of Schulich students. A heartfelt thank you to the alumni who joined us as panelists, helping to inspire and guide the next generation of Schulich talent.
We've also been reconnecting with our valued alumni in Ottawa, Montreal and relaunched our Alumni2Student Mentorship Program. Save the Date: November 25th for our A2S Speed Networking in-person event. If you're interested in joining as a mentor, sign up here.
This October, we look forward to hosting three Global Strategy Sessions with our chapter ambassadors around the world. We continue to focus on expanding our Global Alumni Network and enhancing engagement across our community. If you’d like to learn more about what’s happening at your local chapter, feel free to reach out to your chapter ambassadors here, or visit our events page here.
One of the highlights this month will be our prestigious Alumni Recognition Awards on October 30th, where we’ll celebrate the remarkable achievements of four distinguished alumni: Claude LeBlanc (MBA '91), Dan Magliocco (BBA '92, MBA '96), Anna Maria Ewing (MBA '88), and Katherine Homuth (BBA '11). These individuals have demonstrated extraordinary leadership, innovation, and commitment in their fields and communities. We are also pleased to welcome Kishore Moorjani (BBA '94, MBA '95) as the EMCEE for the evening. Make sure to secure your early bird tickets by October 14th. You can purchase them here. Your presence will make this event truly memorable as we honour these exceptional alumni.
And finally, we are gearing up for the 5th anniversary of Schulich Giving Day 2024 on November 14. This important initiative is instrumental in advancing the School’s highest priorities and growing the Schulich Student Support Fund. Last year, more than 400 alumni participated, helping us raise nearly $300,000. Every dollar donated will be matched, up to $150,000, thanks to our generous alumni matching donors.
This year, we’ve once again set an ambitious target of $300,000 to support more students. We hope you will join us to ensure Schulich Giving Day is a great success and continues to support our students.
Read on to find more about this month's Dean's Desk where Dean Detlev Zwick invites you to explore our newly revamped Alumni2Student (A2S) Mentorship Program that is leveraging our Global Alumni Network and the latest technology to enhance our students' Career Readiness.
We have a fantastic lineup of events this month. As always, I look forward to the opportunity to connect with you.
Warm regards,
Pam Laycock (MBA ’89)
President, Schulich Global Alumni Network
