Virtual Learning Opportunities During COVID-19

Jumbos4Jumbos: Tufts'Alumni Want to Help You
In response to the current health crisis, we've launched a new initiative whereby Tufts alumni will offer projects/micro-internships/gigs that students can do to gain skills this summer -- many of which can be done remotely. You'll find these opportunities by logging into Handshake and searching jobs using "Jumbos4Jumbos" in the Labeled by Your School section. We're continually adding more opportunities, so check back often!

Join LawyerUp, an unpaid learning internship that brings legal recruiters, law students, professors, and leading attorneys from every sector to you fingertips. Program begins on Monday, May 4. To learn more and register contact Umeesha D’Alwis at umeesha.dalwis@pepperdine.edu.

Gerald Gill Fellowship Program

The Center for the Study of Race and Democracy is currently accepting applications for the 2020-2021 Gerald Gill Fellowship Program. Projects may emerge from a variety of disciplines and interdisciplinary programs and may support undergraduate and graduate research. The Gerald Gill Fellows serve as ambassadors of engaged scholarship and active citizenship on campus. We seek Fellows whose engaged scholarship, citizenship, and participation will inspire their peers to think critically about race and democracy, within and beyond the Tufts campus. 

The 2020-2021 Gerald Gill Fellowship plans to run from September 2020 through May 2021. Applications for the 2020-2021 Gerald Gill Fellowship Program are due by Friday, May 22nd, 2020. Click here for Link to application



Columbia Undergraduate Law Review Accepting Fall 2020 Submissions

The Columbia Undergraduate Law Review, a journal of undergraduate legal scholarship based at Columbia University in the City of New York, is accepting submissions for its Fall 2020 issue. In recognition of the various paths undergraduates may take to study law, we welcome submission of research articles, senior theses, and essays embracing a wide range of topics and viewpoints related to the field of law. Undergraduate students in any major, track, or class year should feel free to send us their work. To learn more and to submit visit their website here.
The deadline for submissions is May 31, by 11:59 PM, but we encourage you to submit before that deadline. 

LexScholars by AccessLex
LexScholars is designed for prospective law students from underrepresented racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds who possess potential for law school success but may be unlikely to gain admission due to unfavorable LSAT scores and undergraduate grades.This new diversity pipeline program, has been cancelled. However, free LSAT preparation and law school admissions counseling are still available. 
  • The first 50 eligible applicants to submit all required documents will receive a Kaplan online LSAT course and comprehensive law school admission counseling. 
  • The next 200 eligible applicants to submit all required documents will receive a Kaplan online LSAT course.
Applications will be accepted through June 1; but early submission is greatly encouraged! To learn more and apply click here.

Duke Law DC Summer Institute  - Online for July 2020

The Institute is offered in two sessions this
summer, July 6-16 and July 20-30.  Each course is designed to provide an accessible introduction to the pertinent legal and policy subject matter. Those who are potentially interested in attending law school, or
who are about to begin law school, are especially encouraged to enroll. To learn more and register click here.

Join the Bar: An Evening with Tufts' Alumni

Save-the-Date: Thursday, June 4, 7-8:30PM 

The event will provide Tufts undergrads and alums an opportunity to hear from seasoned lawyers in multiple legal industries.   The event will open with an introductory discussion and then we will break into virtual breakout rooms where attendees can hear from lawyers about general law school questions, and from practitioners in specific areas about their practices. Register here.

Join Steve Schwartz of LSAT Unplugged and Ali Nash of Stratus Admissions (former ASU Law School admission officer) for a discussion on how coronavirus is affecting LSAT and law school admissions. The host, Nataly Kogan, will talk about how we can preserve our emotional energy during these times of uncertainty. She will share practices to help us manage difficult feelings and what we can do to help ourselves and others better navigate negative thoughts and emotions. Listen to recording here.
