Pirate Tip of the Week: Manage Your Time
|
-
Prioritize Tasks: Use tools like the Eisenhower Matrix to decide what's urgent and important. Digital Tools: Apps like Trello, Todoist, or Notion can help you organize and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Set Boundaries: Avoid overcommitting to extracurriculars at the expense of academics. Learn to say "no" to opportunities that don't align with your goals or stretch you too thin.
- Use Productivity Techniques: Try the Pomodoro Technique or time-blocking to manage focus.
- Time-Blocking: Assign specific blocks of time to tasks on your calendar. This technique helps you visually organize your day. Learn how to implement it effectively with this time-blocking guide.

-
Embrace Challenges as Learning Opportunities: Every obstacle you face is a chance to grow and learn. Instead of fearing failure, view it as a stepping-stone to success. Remember, resiliency is the ability to survive and thrive despite the ups and downs that life throws at us.
-
Build a Support Network: Surround yourself with positive influences and supportive people. A strong support system can provide encouragement and help you through difficult times. Don't hesitate to reach out to family, friends, or campus resources when you need support.
-
Practice Self-Care and Mindfulness: Taking care of your mental and physical health is crucial for resilience. Engage in activities that relax and rejuvenate you, such as exercise, spiritual or religious practices, meditation, or hobbies. These practices can help you stay grounded and manage stress effectively.

"I learned (from therapy) to be kinder to myself; it has become more evident that I have a lot of trouble treating myself well, especially because of how much pressure I am under in life. The action of caring for myself is often discarded, and I've learned that this is just as important as my academic endeavors." - Seton Hall Student
|
CAPS Client Satisfaction Survey revealed high satisfaction overall:
|
-
94% felt comfortable and safe discussing multicultural concerns with their counselor.
- 87% agree that "Counseling has positively affected the chances that I will stay in college."
-
83% report being satisfied with CAPS services.
- 76% reported a preference for in-person therapy over teletherapy.
