Louverturians Receive the Sacrament of First Communion
The Office of Campus Ministry at Louverture Cleary School is dedicated to ensuring that the Charism (spiritual identity) of the community is lived out each day, following the student-selected motto of Matthew 10:8 “What you receive for free, you must give for free.”
Under the leadership of Campus Minister Chrislie R. (LCS ’14), Campus Ministry provides pastoral support to students, facilitates liturgical and prayer activities for the school community, and offers opportunities for students to begin or continue their Sacraments of Initiation within the Catholic Church.
This school year, five Louverturians prepared to receive the sacrament of First Communion. After much preparation and a retreat leading up to the day, earlier this month they received their First Communion at a local Catholic parish.
After the Mass, the students and their parents returned to the school for a small reception and celebration of this milestone in their faith journeys.
Congratulations to the communicants, to Chrislie and the school leadership who made it possible, and to all who provide these opportunities for students to grow in their faith!
