Welcome to our second CHDCM newsletter of the 2025-26 academic year! I hope that these early weeks of the semester have treated you well, and that you’re looking forward to all that the Fall season has to offer.
I have really enjoyed seeing the renewed activity around campus, and with the beautiful weather we’ve been having (this weekend’s rain aside), it’s been fun to walk around and catch up with students and faculty I haven’t seen for a few months. It’s also been great to welcome our new students and faculty to CHDCM! And speaking of a CHDCM welcome: I hope to see you all *tomorrow*, September 9, at 12pm in Bethany A for our fantastic Fall tradition, the CHDCM Convocation! Sign up here, if you haven’t already, and join us for a community welcome and rally, including a shared meal, the Scream truck, and this year’s official CHDCM shirt—not to mention the unveiling of our CHDCM Laptop Sticker Challenge…..so I hope to see all of you there!!!
As you gear up for tomorrow, though, check out the articles below to learn more about some of the wonderful, talented people of CHDCM. You’ll also see announcements of upcoming events, and other opportunities to get involved in the many organizations and initiatives within our College—so scroll down and enjoy. And, as always, please keep your good news and event notes coming. See you tomorrow, at the CHDCM Convocation!

Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA)
The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) is a student-run subsection of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). The chapter at Seton Hall is open to students of all majors, offering many opportunities to network and build up your resume. PRSSA hosts events such as resume workshops, panels with young PR professionals, and fun activities like holiday parties. You do not have to be a paid member to come to our events; however, it is required for other aspects of PRSSA.
PRSSA also has two professional opportunities that are available to paid members to further their public relations skills. The Litore Agency is PRSSA’s student-run PR firm that works with non-profit clients to provide strategy and publicity for their company. This is a great way for students to strengthen their professional skills and have experience with a PR internship. The Bateman competition is a year-long competition through PRSSA nationals in which teams from schools across the country compete to design the best public relations campaign. If you are interested in joining, please email jacqueline.litowinsky@student.shu.edu to be added to the email list and follow SHU PRSSA on Instagram @setonhallprssa.

| Kendra Sherman graduated from Sacred Heart University (the other SHU!) with a Bachelor’s in Biology and a minor in Chemistry, then earned her M.A. in Higher Education Administration and a Certificate in International Higher Education from Boston College.
She joined Seton Hall in summer 2022 as Area Coordinator for the First-Year area in Residence Life while beginning her Ph.D. in Higher Education, Leadership, Management, and Policy. Within six months, she was promoted to Assistant Director and has enjoyed working closely with RAs on campus.
Outside of her role, Kendra teaches University Life, facilitates R.A.D. self-defense classes for women each semester, and collaborates with the Office of International Programs to chaperone the ROTC trip to Vietnam. Her dissertation explores collaboration between residence life and faculty on short-term education abroad programs, and she recently won Best Presentation at the BAASANA conference. She plans to defend this October, present at CIES in March 2026, and become the first in her family to earn a doctorate.
