Reading Favorites from Dr. Seuss
Council Member Bill Kling had the pleasure of reading to Ms. Jansen's and Ms. Cannon's kindergarten classes at Ridgecrest Elementary School as part of Read Across America Week. Council Member Kling chose two Dr. Seuss favorites to read to the students: "If I Ran a Circus" and "Green Eggs and Ham."

Celebrating the Arts

Council Member Kling and his wife, Tanjie, had the pleasure of attending the art auction and reception hosted by the Huntsville Museum of Art on March 2. This dedicated City agency diligently works to raise funds independently. Throughout the week's events, their efforts culminated in an impressive achievement, raising over $250,000. The events showcased Huntsville’s vibrant arts scene while also contributing to its growth and sustainability.
“We look forward to future events supporting this invaluable cultural institution,” Kling said.
Strike Up the Bands
The City’s first major outdoor music festival will take place in September in John Hunt Park. C3 Presents confirmed the two-day event for 2024. In addition to further bolstering quality of life, the festival will serve as an economic boon, luring thousands of music fans to hear stellar musicians. Details such as the name of the event, the lineup of artists, and the dates will be announced in April.

Feedback Sought

Are you a District 4 resident with a question or concern? If so, Council Member Kling would like to hear from you.
Each March, Kling distributes comment cards at various locations in hopes residents will complete them and mail them in. Save a stamp and return them in person to the City Council office on the seventh floor of City Hall, 308 Fountain Circle, Huntsville.
“This helps me to do a better job by renewing my awareness about the needs of residents within my district,” Kling said.

Egg-citing Eggstravaganza at John Hunt Park
The chilly weather didn’t keep a huge turnout of children and their brightly colored spring baskets from showing up at Big Spring Park to hunt eggs at the annual Eggstravaganza. Council Member Bill Kling would like to thank Huntsville Parks & Recreation for their outstanding job hosting the event. He also appreciates the involvement of both HPD and Huntsville Fire & Rescue in bringing their public safety vehicles to the park to give the kids a close-up view. But, of course, the Easter Bunny was the star of the show.
