Commencement 101 Workshop - rescheduled date
|
|
|
|
If your student is participating in Commencement this May (so exciting!), we want to host a Commencement 101 Zoom workshop to explain all the details. There are a few changes this year and we will share how the ceremony works, how many guests you can have, and the "don't miss" traditions.
This is the rescheduled meeting.To register (you'll have to register, even if you did it for the previously scheduled event), you can do that here.

We've set the date! We hope you will make plans to join your student and other families on the Mountain for Family Weekend 2024. We'll let you know when registration is open. If you need to book a place to stay, check the Sewanee Accommodations page for options.
We don't have dates for future years yet. We will share them when we do!

|
Tiger Tuesday brings together Sewanee alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents, families, and friends to rally support for important initiatives on the Mountain. Mark your calendars to join more than 3,000 other donors who will support the Sewanee experience that day. You can direct your gift to athletics, scholarships, organizations, and more! Be on the lookout for emails and social media posts so you can be a part of this exciting day.

| McClurg Hours for Spring Break
|
McClurg is closed from March 7 to 16 and will reopen on Sunday, March 17, at 11 a.m. Stirling's will operate on a limited schedule. See the hours here.

| Sophomores - Declare a Major
|
It is time for sophomore students to declare a major. They should meet with the professor who they would like to have as their advisor to discuss plans. Or, if they are undecided, they can meet with a Career Readiness and Student Success coach to help them consider their options. Students have been sent emails about the Program of Study interest forms that are to be returned by Mar. 5.

Internship Funding Request Deadline
|
If your student secured an unpaid or underpaid internship or research opportunity, they can apply for funding through Career Readiness (visit Brightspace). To apply for funding, navigate: Brightspace > Internships > Apply for University Funding.
|
|
| |
Freshmen and sophomores (without a sibling graduating) must move out of the dorms by noon. It may be that they are finished with exams before this date.
|
|
|
| Juniors and seniors move out of the dorms by noon.
|
|
|
|
Families are invited to attend our Sewanee Club events across the country. It's a great way to get updates from campus, meet other Sewanee people in your area, and stay connected. Be on the lookout for these events:

| Perimeter Trail Hike Weekend
|
Join us for a weekend of celebrating one of Sewanee's most valuable resources: the Domain. Lots of parents have participated over the years and have joined our alumni for this event, which combines hiking, socializing, meals, and fun! It's a great excuse to visit the Mountain (and your student).
We take great care of you, so save your space and register today!

| New Software for Residential Life Room Draw
The office of residential life is implementing a new software- StarRez. Students will use the software to complete their housing application, roommate matching, room selection, and housing contract.
Room draw information and schedule is available online. Senior Suite selection is first and starts after Spring Break.
