It's that time of year! We were recently notified of several students who received national honors related to international opportunities and research. We're happy to share their good news and to offer our congratulations!

Four Miamians Offered Fulbright Awards, One Other Named An Alternate
|
|
|
|
Four of Miami University’s Fulbright semifinalists have been offered 2023-2024 grants and one has been named an alternate. Recipients of Fulbright awards are selected in an open, merit-based competition that considers leadership potential, academic and/or professional achievement, and record of service.
|
|
|
Perkins Selected for Fulbright UK Summer Institute
|
|
|
|
Sophomore Meredith Perkins was selected for a three-week Fulbright UK Summer Institute. Hosted by Aberystwyth University, Wales, the institute will focus on the theme ‘Identity and Nationhood through the lens of Wales.’ Perkins is only the second Miami student to be selected for this program.
|
|
|
Five Miami students named Gilman Scholars
|
|
|
| Five Miami University students have been awarded a combined total of $15,000 from the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program to help fund their study abroad experiences this summer and during the coming academic year.
|
|
|
ELLWC Consultant Shares Research at ECWCA Conference
|
|
|
|
English Language Learner Writing Center (ELLWC) student consultant Lorelyn Nolte presented Vygostkyan Theory in Writing Consultations for Multilingual Writers at the 2023 East Central Writing Centers Association Annual Conference, April 21-23 at Purdue University.

Matthew Sweet receives Freeman-ASIA Award
|
|
|
|
Junior Matthew Sweet (Computer Science) has been selected to receive a Freeman-ASIA Award for Study in Asia for Fall 2023. Sweet will study abroad in South Korea through an exchange program with KAIST University, a national research university located in Daejeon, South Korea.
|

GRC Grads Ready for the Next Chapter
|
|
|
|
With faculty, staff, and students looking on, 23 graduating seniors were recognized for their achievements as they received the Global Readiness Certificate (GRC)—only the third group of students to earn this honor. It was a time to celebrate, but also a time to reflect on the extraordinary journey that made it possible.

Latin American and Caribbean UniDiversity Festival: Celebrating the 20th year of the UniDiversity program, our uptown festival is part of a month full of activities encompassed within the National Hispanic Latino American Heritage Month at Miami and Oxford.

Global Friendship Thanksgiving Dinner: This event is an opportunity for international students and scholars to experience a traditional American holiday and engage in meaningful interaction and friendship with community members and Miami faculty and staff. Classic Thanksgiving food will be served.

Miami in Luxembourg Celebrates 55 Years

| Calling all alumni! The 55th Anniversary of the Miami University John E. Dolibois European Center is finally upon us! We have two ways you can celebrate with us.
1. Join us for Alumni Weekend events June 9-10 in Oxford. The MUDEC 55th Stateside Celebration will be on Saturday, June 10, from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. at the Armstrong Student Center’s Café Lux. More about Alumni Weekend
3. Join us for the Luxembourg-based Celebration in the country you know and love, October 10-12, with optional Re-Discovery Tours October 13-14. Learn more and register for the Celebration.
