Payments are dated January 1, but banks will be closed on New Year’s Day and due to tax year implications, January payments cannot be deposited any earlier than January 1.
Additionally, don't forget that new federal tax rates will go into effect February 1st, 2022, which may affect the net amount of your benefit payment.
