The Boys Can Eat: Butcher and Bee
Butcher and Bee serves a creative and fun dining experience. Located among the cluster of restaurants on Morrison Drive, this eclectic spot services breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Inventive sandwiches, vegetarian small plates, and wickedly good desserts are standard fare.
Butcher and Bee specialize in fresh, local, seasonal offerings with a Middle Eastern influence. They “partner with local farms, fisherman and ranchers,” and menu offerings change based on season and availability. For dinner, you can choose either 3 or 6 small plates to share. We chose the Whipped Feta with fermented honey, cracked black pepper and house-made pita; beets with amba, lebneh, pickled onions and dill; and falafel with baba ghanoush. The feta was creamy and sweet, the beets delicious and the falafel spicy and crunchy.
We followed with a medium-sized plate of Hasselback squash with brown butter, lemon, capers, and breadcrumbs. Fresh tagliatelle with zucchini, English peas and lemon was undoubtedly the lightest and most flavorful pasta I’ve ever eaten.
We ended our feast with creamy and beautiful cheesecake, sherbet and fresh berries and really, really good coffee.
We’re looking forward to returning for both breakfast and lunch which have equally interesting menus.
