Rachel Mendez
Name: Rachel Rump
Title: Employee Experience & Engagement Specialist, Employee Engagement
What brought you to Notre Dame?
I grew up in Elkhart which is in the shadow of Notre Dame. I grew up a football fan and had the BIGGEST crush on Brady Quinn when he was quarterback for the team. Football was such a way of life for my family that I actually wasn't "allowed" to attend Purdue University because Notre Dame regularly played them. I went to Ball State University and just fell in love with the university feel and culture. I knew I wanted to be around this energy for my career.
What's your favorite book?
My favorite book is "Nice Girls Don't Get the Corner Office 101" by Lois P. Frankel. I learned about unconscious mistakes I make as a woman that a man wouldn't do. I would highly recommend it to anyone, especially a young college graduate.
Grow your connections at Notre Dame and help others get to know you! Simply complete this form and we will feature you in an upcoming issue and on our website!

Wintering: The Power of Rest and Retreat in Difficult Times

By: Katherine May

"Wintering is a poignant and comforting meditation on the fallow periods of life, times when we must retreat to care for and repair ourselves. Katherine May thoughtfully shows us how to come through these times with the wisdom of knowing that, like the seasons, our winters and summers are the ebb and flow of life."
