Each year, SMPA offers prizes, scholarships and other special opportunities to enhance students' abilities to pursue their academic goals and be recognized for their achievements. Last year, over $150,000 was awarded to students.

Planet Forward's annual competition recognizes compelling, student-told stories that illuminate environmental issues and solutions. The grand prize trip is a 10-day storytelling voyage through the Galápagos Islands.

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT
Jen Fox, B.A. '18, began a new job as communications director for Rep. Lucy McBath (GA-6). Previously, Fox worked on the press team for Rep. Adam Schiff (CA-28).
Lande Watson, B.A. '18, joined the Office of Governor Gavin Newsom as the assistant director of research. Previously, Watson worked for NARAL Pro-Choice California as a field organizer. While at GW, Watson was president of the College Democrats chapter and held a variety of government and communications internships.
