PDX Travelers Count on David Alldritt
David Alldritt (he/him) jumped into action to help during an incident on the escalator. A fellow employee was impressed with David's quick, knowledgeable response and sent in the following compliment:
"I just wanted to nominate David with Currency Exchange International for recognition.
He observed a woman falling on the escalator by the Currency Exchange kiosk and very quickly shut the escalator down. Had he not been so observant and fast acting, the situation could have been much worse.
He truly came to the rescue and even stayed with the woman while she waited for the medical response."

What's New with PDX Next: Ticket Lobby, Airport Way and Frontage Road Impacts
Ticket Lobby: You may have noticed elevated noise near the D/E overflow work area and by the former Portland Coffee Roasters location, as well as odors in the ticket lobby. While this won't occur every day, you can expect similar impacts as demolition continues. Noise and odor mitigation measures are in place and will be monitored. Workdays are Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Airport Way and Frontage Road: Starting next Monday, Aug. 14, through Saturday, Aug. 19, from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m., expect maintenance work on Airport Way and Frontage Road. This work will help keep the roads drivable and safe for employees, travelers and commuters. Impacts include lane closures, partial driveway closures, detours, flagging and traffic control, which may cause backups and delays.
Work on Airport Way will primarily take place Monday through Wednesday, with one lane closures east and west bound. The closures will be between the Mt. Hood Avenue exit and about halfway between the Cascade Station on/off exit and I-205 off ramp onto Airport Way.
Frontage Road impacts will happen Thursday through Saturday, with one lane closures in both directions in front of Atlantic Aviation and between the Bradford Airport Logistics building and the traffic circle at Mt Hood Avenue.

Be Knowledgeable:
Lost and Found
You’re walking down Concourse B when you stumble across a pair of prescription glasses on the ground. Do you know what to do next? If you said, “Take them to Lost and Found,” you’d be right!
If you have a lost item, there are a few options for routing the item to Lost and Found – whichever option is closest to you is the best choice.
During open hours, you can bring items to the Lost and Found office on the first floor of the short-term parking garage (see the map). You can also bring items to the information booths in baggage claim if they are staffed or use a drop box.
Drop boxes are in the following locations:
  • In baggage claim behind the desk at both the south and north information booths
  • In north baggage claim near carousel 9
  • By the B/C and D/E TSA supervisor desks
  • On Concourse B near the elevators/Gate B6
  • On Concourse C near Henry’s Tavern
  • On Concourse D near Gate D5
  • On Concourse E near Gates E7 and E8
  • Outside the new Lost and Found office
Items put in the drop boxes will eventually go to Lost and Found, but if the lost item is essential – think wallet, ID, medication, keys, cell phone or other necessities – call the PDX Communications Center at 503.460.4747 and let them know an essential item is in the drop box.
Lost and Found’s open hours are listed online and there’s a place on the Lost and Found website where people can submit an inquiry about missing items – this is the best place to start if you or a visitor has lost an item at PDX.

PDX in Pictures
Last week, G2 held an employee appreciation event to celebrate the PDX People on their team. Cheryl VanGilder, PDX General Manager for, noted, "Since G2 first started in 2019, our employees have been through a lot, the majority of it being the COVID-19 pandemic. The summertime is our busiest season and what better way to enjoy the weather and show our appreciation than by having an outdoor BBQ and games for our amazing crew." Thank you G2 for all you do!
