Segal Lecture and Reception featuring Jane Burston, Clean Air Fund
Join us for the annual Segal Lecture, followed by a reception for all attendees. The keynote speaker is Jane Burston, founder of the Clean Air Fund, discussing "Air Pollution: A Climate and Health Emergency, and How We Can Tackle It" on Monday, February 6, at 5:30–6:30 p.m. in Cabot Center ASEAN Auditorium. Welcome remarks by President Anthony Monaco, hosted by Dean Rachel Kyte. Please reserve your seat so we order the right amount of food!

Dust, a Film About the 1970s, Written and Directed by Howard Woolf
Dust is a short feature about what happened to a bunch of kids in a halfway house and the therapist who tried to save them when the reveries of the 1960s turned into the nightmares of the 1970s. The film was written and directed by Howard Woolf, Experimental College Director. Presented by Tufts Film and Media Studies, this film screening is open to the Tufts community on Thursday, February 9, at 7 p.m. in Barnum Hall 008.

Kill Your Lawn Lecture
According to NASA, more surface area in the U.S. is covered by lawn than by any other single-irrigated crop. Lawns require irrigation, fertilizer, and pesticides to thrive in New England. Hear Mark Richardson, Director of Horticulture at the New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill, discuss how to replace a lawn with beautiful native plantings. This event on Thursday, February 9, at 12 noon–1 p.m. in the Curtis Hall Multipurpose Room is part of Tufts Environmental Studies' weekly environmental lectures.

Public Safety is offering in-person Civilian Response to Active Shooter Training to all members of the Tufts community on February 6 and 10. StAAR is Hiring Tutors and Writing Fellows
The StAAR Center is hiring Tutors and Writing Fellows for the 2023–2024 academic year! These positions are paid peer tutors who work with Tufts students. There are no GPA or letter grade requirements to apply, and all majors are welcome! Applications are due February 13.

Environmental Photo Contest
Win up to $150 by entering the annual Undergraduate Environmental Photo Contest! The Environmental Studies Program is proud to host the photo contest each year, where students can win prizes (1st place: $150, 2nd place: $100, 3rd place: $50) and an opportunity for their work to be displayed on the Medford Campus for the next academic year. The submission deadline is February 26, 2023.

Applications Open for the Global Research Assistant Program (GRAP)!
GRAP provides the opportunity for Tufts students to work with Tufts faculty members on paid international research projects during the summer. Summer 2023 project locations include Greece, India, Jamaica, and Malaysia. GRAP is open to all Tufts undergraduates in their first, second, or third year of study. Graduate students are eligible to apply, but priority will be given to undergraduate students. Apply by March 15 at midnight.
