Students and families are invited to this official opening day ceremony as President Sunil Kumar enrolls and welcomes new students into the Tufts community. Students will meet with their residence halls to line up for this event.

| Navigating Your Academic Journey: Academic Advising & Beyond (Mandatory)

Join the Academic Advising Team for an open house designed to help you get familiar with the people and offices that will support your academic journey at Tufts. Drop in throughout the event to explore key campus resources, meet your advising team, and connect with academic departments and support programs. Eaton Hall will be the central hub for the event, where you’ll find members of your advising team, representatives from academic departments, pre-major advisors, and other campus support offices. Popsicles will also be available in Eaton Hall throughout the event, so take a break, cool off, and chat with members of your academic support team. Whether you’re meeting your advising team for the first time or simply getting to know more about what’s available to you, this is a great opportunity to start the year with helpful connections and a sweet treat.

| Illumination Ceremony (Mandatory)

Presented by the Tufts Chaplaincy, this beautiful ritual and tradition takes place twice in each Tufts student’s journey—as a highlight of orientation and on the night before Commencement. Through words and music by students, staff and alums, we will reflect on what it means to set a light on this Hill.

Come out for this annual orientation tradition. Sit back and enjoy some entertainment from Tufts' most talented student performance organizations. Enjoy an ice cream treat courtesy of Tufts University Police Department (TUPD) and the student-run Tufts University Emergency Medical Services (TEMS). Don't forget to bring a towel or blanket!

| REGISTER NOW: StAAR Center Sessions
|
All new students are required to participate in one of the many sessions being offered by the StAAR Center on Saturday, August 30. These programs will take place at various times in the Joyce Cummings Center (JCC). Students must create their TuftsTickets account before selecting and registering for their desired session (just one, please!). The deadline to register is Friday, August 29 at 12:00pm.
