Hello Jumbos,
This week we're sharing important information about Health and Wellness at Tufts. We're introducing you to three different departments: Health ServiceCounseling and Mental Health, and Health Promotion.
Make sure you look out for special welcome messages later this week from Health Service and Counseling and Mental Health!
BFA and Combined Degree Students (including Transfer Students)! Make sure you also look for an invitation later today from your Advising Dean to schedule an advising appointment! 
Finally, we want to remind all First-Year BA and BS Students that the Advising Survey is due this week! Remember to first watch the Liberal Arts or Engineering Academic Essential video!

This Week's News and Announcements

Health Service 

Located on the Medford/Somerville campus across from Fletcher Field, Health Service is your place for primary health care. SMFA students are also able to receive primary care at the Kenmore-Harvard Vangard downtown. All students have access to services after hours in an emergency.
All primary care visits are covered by your University Health Fee!
Students can:
  1. Make an Appointment by calling 617-627-3350 (Put this number in your phone!)
  2. Walk in to Health Service for acute illness or injury whenever our office is open

Counseling and Mental Health

We have a diverse, dedicated staff of mental health clinicians at Tufts. Counseling and Mental Health is located on the northern end of the Medford/Somerville campus. SMFA students are also able to receive mental health services on site at 230 The Fenway. There is a Counselor-On-Call for all students should they need help after hours with a mental health emergency.
Counseling services are confidential and free to undergraduates!
Student can:
  1. Make an Appointment by calling 617-627-3360. (Put this number in your phone!
  2. Reach the Counselor-On-Call after hours in an emergency by calling the University Police at 617-627-3030. (Put this number in your phone too!)

Health Promotion
Tufts has an office dedicated to health education and prevention initiatives. Health Promotion works with a variety of students and student groups to develop programs related to alcohol and drugs, sleep, stress management, and nutrition.

Connect on Raftr!

Now that you have your Tufts email set up, make sure you download Raftr, a new social network that helps students connect with classmates and find out what's happening on campus!
  • Download Raftr: Apple or Android.
  • Create a college account with your Tufts email address.
  • Start connecting with your classmates, ask us a question using our Ask Me Anything raft, and get reminders about dates and deadlines on our What's Happening Today? raft! We also have a raft just for Transfer Students!
  • You'll  be able to connect with ResLife staff, Pre-Orientation Leaders, and Orientation staff in the coming weeks!
