🥞 SHROVE TUESDAY PANCAKE BREAKFAST
All Noah's Ark families are invited to our Shrove Tuesday "come & go" Pancake Breakfast on Tuesday, February 17, from 8:30–9:30 AM in Fellowship Hall, before school begins.
Breakfast will be lovingly griddled up by Lake Grove Church's Fourth Quarter Men’s Group, featuring pancakes, sausage, fruit, and beverages.
👉 Please submit your RSVP by Tuesday, February 10.
At the breakfast, families will also have the opportunity to contribute to the Noah’s Ark Scholarship Fund. This fund was established using remaining funds from the Nancy Stewart Memorial Play Structure Project, along with a generous gift from Lynn and Fritz Bartsch in memory of Brian Bartsch. The scholarship supports families who may need assistance with tuition.
We are actively growing this fund to support families for the 2026–2027 school year. If you’re able, please consider donating at the pancake breakfast—together, let’s build that scholarship stack! 💙
Have a wonderful weekend,

This week, we started our Valentine's Day theme, which also includes friendships and feelings.
During circle time, we sang "Five Little Valentine Bears Jumping on the Bed" and matched hearts by color.
We had so much fun with the Valentine's Day post office, writing notes and mailing them!
At the art table, we painted our Valentine's bags, dropped watercolors onto heart diffusing paper, spun hearts in a salad spinner, and made heart suncatchers with sticky paper and heart confetti.
We have been working on our transferring skills using our new bunny tongs that mimic the movement of scissors, but are a bit easier to handle. We pick up items from the left bowl and move them to the right bowl.
Our reading corner is set up with books, emotion cards, and feeling activities.
We got lots of large-motor play in the gym, the hub room, and outside in the sunshine!
Next week we will continue this theme, and on Thursday we will have our little celebration. Please make sure to get our class list from the newsletter and bring a Valentine for each child (no edible treats, please). We will have you help your child place them in the bags upon arrival.
Have a great weekend!

We had a wonderful week together in our classroom! We began the week with Chapel, and it was so nice to see everyone back, settled, and ready to learn. We also introduced our Valentine's theme, and the children jumped right in. They especially loved creating valentines and "sending" them through the mail in our dramatic play area—such sweet moments of creativity and imaginative play.
In Art, we painted hearts using salad spinners, practiced using scissors while decorating special Valentine's Day cards for loved ones, and worked together on a surprise birthday banner for Mr. Ian! 🎉 The children were so proud of their work. We also introduced the letter E, focusing on letter recognition, its sound, and tracing practice.
We look forward to celebrating Valentine's Day with our class next Friday.
We hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Our hearts and hands were busy this week in Pre‑K. We kicked off our Valentine's Day and Friendship theme by talking about how we show love and kindness, and how expressing gratitude is important all year, not just at Thanksgiving.
In Learning Without Tears, the children explored the letter/sound K and reviewed numbers 1 to 7 through hands‑on activities that build early writing and number skills.
The children had so much fun in our post office dramatic play area, where they enjoyed pretending to send and receive mail just like grown‑ups. They also practiced singing their Valentine's Day songs with excitement for our upcoming walking field trip to Oakridge Park Senior Living. Before heading there, they will get a chance to mail their very own letters at the Post Office.
We also kicked off our Hearts Across America project. The children are excited, and each time we receive a new card, they carefully place a heart on the state on our classroom map where the card came from. A big thank you to our families for helping our class receive mail and for making this week full of fun and learning.
We hope you have a wonderful and relaxing weekend.

Kindergarten Prep had a fun week with our Community Helpers theme! We had great discussions about all of the helpful jobs we know about, which sparked sharing about what everyone wants to be when they grow up.
One highlight was our mini sensory bin full of kinetic sand and construction vehicles! Building houses and buildings with fire, near our fire station, was also a big hit! A lot of hard work was spent putting together our various puzzles. We had fun with art while practicing our fine motor skills.
We created a big group project making Valentines for the residents at Oakridge Park, and we are looking forward to that field trip! Students were very excited to start decorating their Valentine's Day boxes. We will definitely be spending more time on those next week!
We practiced the sounds and formation of the lowercase letters g and u this week. Our number this week was 15, and we used Unifix cubes to make various combinations that add up to 15! We continue practicing our rhyming words and having more fun with patterns!
Have a wonderful weekend!
