Bryan Stevenson
The keynote speaker for this year's MLK Commemoration Celebration is Bryan Stevenson, Executive Director of the Equal Justice Initiative and author of Just Mercy.
Stevenson is a widely acclaimed public interest lawyer who has dedicated his career to helping the poor, the incarcerated, and the condemnded.
In 1989, he founded the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI), a nonprofit organization committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States, to challenging racial and economic injustice, and to protecting basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in American society.

The recipient of a MacArthur Foundation Genius Grant and NAACP Image Award for  his memoir, Just Mercy, Stevenson was named one of Times 100 Most Influential People in 2015.
Nobel Peace laureate Desmond Tutu has called Stevenson “America’s young Nelson Mandela,” and The New Yorker named his TED talk as one of five essential TED Talks.
