Ariba bares all saying, "Behind her journey was a lot of chaos and a lot of uncertainty. I never thought I would end up in communications or advertising or any career path that communicates to consumers. I work in digital product experience and technology. I didn't know that I was going to end up here. What makes the journey so interesting is I can tap into different experiences that I have knowledge of. I have many different types of people that I work with and all of that comes with me and ends up helping me communicate better with just about anyone. I can talk to the technologists, the dev team, the social team, the accounts team; anyone involved. So I think that's what's also interesting for me. To answer your question about how did that path happen? Definitely not intentional, but I think what I was always following is a sense of curiosity."

LIA + Transatlantic Present Gems from the Sea Episode 11, Season Finale, Featuring Rey Tiempo, Chief Creative Officer, Co-Op Play, Manila.

Rey was on the 2025 LIA Evolution and Creative Use of Data Jury.

Rey and Simone share their view points on the balance between peace and conflict for coming up with creative ideas. 

"In my head space we should all be working towards peace and we should all work towards being better towards each other...If it's all about integration, it's all about working together to find a common ground and a peaceful ground for everything," says Rey.

Simone adds, "I think there has to be tension. We look for tension when we come up with an idea. We look for tension when we write a brief. We look for tension where we develop the idea. We are always trying to chase that kind of emotive and emotional and also brainy tension that can give the idea an edge and I think that kind of like attitudes reflect also in the way we come up with ideas."

Last year, as LIA celebrated its 40th anniversary, it also marked the aquatic birth of a new series: “Gems from the Sea”,  a spin-off of the Oceans series that has ran over the past three years.

TRANSATLANTIC and LIA joined anchors and set sail in search of 11 creative pearls from within the industry, each of whom were part of the 2025 LIA Jury line-up.

Through the Seven Seas Interviews, conceived, written, and individually crafted for each guest, Simone Nobili, founder of TRANSATLANTIC Arts & Media LLC and published author, waded into deep waters with his guests, surfacing stories against the backdrop of Sin City.

Episodes were filmed live at the Encore @ Wynn Las Vegas during LIA judging, from September 25th through October 3rd. Stay tuned for the rest of the 2025 series.
