19th ANNUAL LUCIE AWARDS HONOR OUTSTANDING PHOTOGRAPHERS
THE GALA CEREMONY GATHERS PHOTO COMMUNITY AND WINNERS 
HOSTED BY ACCLAIMED BROADWAY ACTOR ALTON FITZGERALD WHITE
October 25, 2022, (New York, NY) – Earlier this evening, New York hosted the 19th Annual Lucie Awards in a gala black-tie ceremony and awards program, at Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall. The Lucies – the world’s most esteemed photography awards ceremony, honoring the greatest achievements in the field - presented awards ranging from Achievement in Fine Art and Documentary, to excellence in industry support categories, from publishing to exhibition.
"Tonight we pay tribute to the achievements of the winners and honorees whose extraordinary work brings so much meaning to our community and the world. We are thrilled to have returned to Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York, and see our friends and colleagues once again, as we highlight these achievements,” stated Hossein Farmani, founder, of The Lucie Awards. Farmani continues, "We are back. The Lucie Awards have become an anticipated annual event that celebrates our industry, the individuals, and the community that surrounds us. After an unprecedented global interruption, tonight we were able to gather to honor some of the most admired and talented individuals in the field."

Robert Adams (unable to attend) received the Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by Joshua Chuang, curator, writer, and editor, Associate Director of Art, Prints, and Photographs, and Senior Curator of Photography at The New York Public Library.

Lynsey Addario is the 2022 Impact Award recipient, presented by Meaghan Looram, The New York Times Director of Photography  
The Impact Award is given to a photographer whose image or body of work has created a difference in a given year.
IPA PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR was presented by Susan Baraz, Co-Chair, The Lucie Awards and Head of IPA Judging Committee.  The 2022 award and cash prize for International Photographer of the Year ($10,000 Cash prize, sponsored by OnePlus) went to Paula Bronstein: Ukraine, Consequences of War

The IPA has awarded over $265,000 in prize money over the last 19 years. Winning work was displayed during Lucie Week in the coveted annual Best of Show Exhibition at Splashlight, curated by Mark Sealy, Ph.D., OBE, featuring 56 of the winning images from the 2022 competition.

Once again, acclaimed Broadway actor, Alton Fitzgerald White hosted this year’s gala Lucie Awards presentation, at Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall, in New York City. White is most widely known for his record-breaking 4,308 performances as King Mufasa in Disney's The Lion King on Broadway. 
The Lucie Awards highlights a week of celebrations hosted by Lucie Foundation, the Lucie Awards’ governing body, and was kicked off on Saturday by the IPA Best of Show and party hosted and sponsored by Splashlight.
