| Inclusion Beyond the Classroom: Accommodations in Experiential Learning
Please join CUSE and CCEL on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. to learn more about accommodations in high impact learning experiences outside the classroom. This event is online.
This workshop, presented by Jayne Fraley-Burgett from Student Accessibility Resources (SAR), equips faculty mentors and internship coordinators with practical strategies to support students who need accommodations in experiential education settings. Participants will learn how to navigate student requests, implement inclusive practices, and create accessible learning environments across undergraduate research, internships, field trips, and field studies.

Neuro-Inclusion in Research - A Conversation with Dr. Keivan Stassun
Join CUSE and the SSD Committee on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM for an informal discussion with Keivan G. Stassun, Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Vanderbilt University and MacArthur Foundation Fellow, on how to create inclusive research environments.
Dr. Stassun is the founder the Frist Center for Autism and Innovation, where he collaborates with experts in education, disability, business, and engineering to help neurodiverse individuals find and maintain meaningful employment. He is also a founding co-director the Fisk-Vanderbilt Master's-to-PhD Bridge Program to increase the diversity of students receiving advanced degrees in STEM fields.

| Seeger Faculty Fellowship
A grant of up to $5000 is available annually to two individuals working in the humanities. For the Seeger Fellowship, the Humanities is defined as American Studies, Archaeology, Art History, Classics and Ancient Language, Communications, Comparative Literature, Dance, Design, English Literature, Ethnic Studies, Film Studies, History, Jurisprudence, Media Arts, Modern Languages and Literature, Music, Philosophy, Religious Studies, Selected Interdisciplinary and Area Studies, Theater, Visual Arts, Women’s and Gender Studies, and Writing.
Grant funds may be used for travel costs related to the proposed project (i.e., travel to archives, specialized training or workshops, etc.), equipment and materials, as well as for dedicated time to advance project objectives. Grant funds may not be used to disseminate previous work (e.g., past conference presentation) or work unrelated to proposed project objectives. Recruitment Requests from External Researchers
If a non-GVSU researcher has asked you to disseminate a recruitment announcement to GVSU students, faculty, or staff for participation in human subjects research, please instruct the external researcher to complete the form located on the External Research Recruitment Request webpage. The ORCI will review the request to ensure GVSU is not engaged in the research and, where appropriate, will reach out to the involved unit(s) to determine if the researcher has permission to move forward with recruitment at GVSU.
