Dear Fine Arts Faculty and Staff,
I am pleased to announce new changes for the Center for Creative Economies.
Effective June 1, the Fine Arts Career Services team will be joining the Center for Creative Economies portfolio under Director Sonia Montoya. Within the Career Services team, Isabel Tweraser has been promoted to Manager and will supervise Elizabeth Tuggle, who has been promoted to Senior Student Program Coordinator. I want to thank both Isabel and Liz for helping Career Services continue to thrive this past winter as their office has been in transition. Highlights from this past semester include: Advising a record number of students, hosting a fantastic Austin Dance Community Networking Event and executing a revamped New York Experience program. Additionally, Ting-Ting Chen, Program Coordinator for the Center for Creative Economies, will bring her expertise in public outreach and the arts non-profit sector to further expand resources and experiences for our students.
The addition of Career Services will help strengthen the center’s ability to strategically serve all students across the college in their career development goals. From a painter seeking to develop their grant-writing abilities to the musician who wishes to expand their networking abilities or the researcher seeking a job before continuing their graduate work, these all fit into the expansive offerings for our students working within the creative economy.
We are committed to supporting our Fine Arts students on their creative and professional development journeys, and I am confident this new structure helps us enhance and build upon our programmatic strengths.
Sincerely,
