Walk-in vaccines available at RI state-run clinics
Walk-in vaccines available at RI state-run clinics
Friday, May 7, 2021
The last day of spring semester classes is Monday, followed by final exams. As we finish a successful academic year and look forward to celebrating the accomplishments and resilience of our classes of 2020 and 2021 at commencement ceremonies May 20-23, we need to remain attentive to campus health and safety.
The Bryant community’s commitment continues to help keep our positivity rate declining as more students, faculty and staff become fully vaccinated. If you have been thinking about getting your shot but have not done so yet, don’t wait. Vaccines are safe and highly effective.
RI is now seventh in the country for the number of people who have received at least one vaccine dose and sixth in the country for the number of people fully vaccinated. Students from out-of-state can get their first shot in RI and their second shot in their home state.
No Appointment Needed
The RI Dept. of Health is working to make vaccination as easy, convenient, and accessible as possible. If you want to get vaccinated at one of the State-run sites, making an appointment in advance at www.vaccinateRI.org is still the best way to go, but appointments aren’t required. Vaccines are available for walk-ins at three State-run sites:
  • 100 Sockanosset Cross Road, Cranston, open Tuesday-Saturday, 8 a.m. - 9 p.m. Free parking is available behind the building.
  • Dunkin' Donuts Center, 1 La Salle Square, Providence, open Tuesday-Saturday, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Three hours of free parking are available in North Garage at 114 West Exchange St.
  • 1400 West Main Road, Middletown, which is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Appointments are also no longer needed to get vaccinated at 80 select CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, and Stop & Shop pharmacy locations throughout the state To find a vaccine site near you, view RIDOH’s Vaccine Site Locator.
Vaccine Documentation at the MAC
As more members of the Bryant community continue to get vaccinated for COVID-19, next week the MAC Surveillance Testing Center will continue a 2-week Vaccination Documentation Program. This program is designed to help maintain vaccine records with Bryant Health Services.
If you are fully vaccinated, please bring your completed vaccination card with you to your weekly surveillance testing. As a reminder, students who are fully vaccinated need to continue to test twice weekly. Faculty and staff who are fully vaccinated need to continue testing once per week.
If you are fully vaccinated but exempt from surveillance testing- as a virtual student, working remotely, or currently in the 90 days following a positive result- please email a copy of your vaccination card to bhs@bryant.edu or fax to 401-232-6702.
Starting on the 15th day after the final dose of vaccination, individuals who have a new close contact exposure to COVID-19 will be exempt from quarantine. The final dose of vaccination is the second dose for Pfizer and Moderna, and the single dose for Johnson & Johnson.
Commencement Weekend
The University’s Commencement Weekend is the culmination of Bryant’s strong commitment to preserving the in-person campus experience. We will celebrate on campus and in person the accomplishments of Class of 2020 and Class of 2021 students and our seven distinguished honorary degree recipients, including industry and higher education leaders and heroes on the front line of the pandemic.
Bryant is the only college or university in Rhode Island to allow guests at Commencement ceremonies on campus this year. To reduce the size of individual events, Bryant Commencement Weekend 2021 includes four ceremonies.
Bookstore Items for Graduates
Due to public health and safety concerns, during Commencement weekend the Bryant University Bookstore will be open only for students purchasing regalia. We congratulate all Bryant graduates and regret any inconvenience this may cause. Please plan ahead to make purchases for popular items such as diploma frames, gifts and apparel online.
