Oasis Ambassadors Task Force Takes on Goal to Equip 10,000 Pastors Every Year
Many pastors in Africa are leading churches with little or no training on how to apply the Word of God. A ten-member task force of men and women dedicating their time, talents, and treasure, met to address this need. The task force plans to multiply how partner ministries can train 10,000 pastors with Africa Study Bibles yearly to double outreach.
Leadership Development at SIM and OMF
Dave Bremner, Director of Leader Development at SIM International, published Images of Leadershipwith Oasis International. At the recent global assembly which takes place every 4 years, it was evident that the leaders of SIM from around the world had embraced the concepts of the Shepherd, Servant, and Steward Leader as a result of the influence of the ministry that birthed this book. SIM leadership training events have taken place in Israel, Austria, Italy, Malta, Malaysia, South Africa, Kenya, Greece, and Ghana, in addition to virtual cohorts running across the globe. OMF International, another major missions organization like SIM, has used the book and the training modeled on the SIM approach.
Africa Edition NLT Bible Approved for Kenya Schools
The New Living Translation (NLT): Africa Edition Bible was approved in February for use as an official textbook in schools in Kenya. "We're excited for this partnership which will see the future leadership of Kenya being grounded in the Word of God today," shared Malele Ngalu, Oasis International's Regional Director for East Africa.
Africa Bible Fund Leverages Scale and Sustainable Impact
The Africa Bible Fund is fulfilling three Oasis stewardship principles. First, high leverage: it accomplishes a lot with a little. Second, scale: it keeps the presses running to print more Bibles. And third, sustainable: over time the fund will make Oasis less reliant on donations. To date, $305,000 has been returned into the $775,000 fund.
