| Summer School Immunization Clinics
|
Attention parents of students going into 8th & 12th grades: summer immunization clinics can help you check one thing off your to-do list before August!
Our team of registered nurses will be traveling to schools in three local districts to offer immunizations. These clinics are appointment-only so make sure to register at least two weeks before your child's clinic date.
Eligibility
|
- Students going into 8th grade or 12th grade
- A parent or legal guardian must come with the student during summer clinics. Or, the parent or legal guardian can provide written consent for another adult to be with the student.
-
Only students that attend a school within the host district can attend that clinic.
- For example, only incoming 8th graders or 12th graders within Liberty School District can attend the Liberty North clinic.
- The student does not have to be attending summer school.

Emergency Response Exercise |
On May 21, Clay County Public Health Center set up a mock mass vaccination clinic, in order to work through the challenges that a situation like pandemic flu would bring. CCPHC staff, plus numerous partner organizations, volunteers, and students, came together to make the event a successful learning experience.
Exercises are hosted by CCPHC's emergency response coordinator every few years, to ensure staff are knowledgeable and prepared in case of emergencies. This exercise provided an environment where staff and partners could practice setting up a clinic space, troubleshoot technology, account for patients with diverse needs, try out different tools, and confront various challenges. At the end, all participants discussed and shared feedback regarding what went well, what could be improved, and solutions.
Whether day-to-day or in an emergency, your local public health agency is ready to assist community members in staying safe and healthy.
