Member of the Month
Patsy Knight
It’s our pleasure to highlight our October Member of the Month, Patsy! While looking for an exercise program to help with her arthritis, Patsy was hopeful to find a class that she could identify with regarding her age and body. Once she heard about Aqua Aerobics and gave it a try, she found great support from the other members in the class as well as the instructors. “It’s the first time doing an exercise class that I feel people care about my success,” she says. “The class is filled with good people and I am free of pain for one hour a day while participating in the class. The instructors are marvelous at adapting the exercises to my ability.”
When she first started Aqua Aerobics, Patsy could get into the pool but not out of it. Her knee problems prevented her from going up the steps which meant that she had to use a chair lift for a few months. “After practicing going up one step and then another step, a wonderful thing happened as I was able to get out of the pool just on my own!”
Outside of the club and in her free time, Patsy is an avid Bridge player and reader. She also just became a great-grandmother a few weeks ago for the third time! With a passion for education, Patsy spent 26 years as a fourth grade teacher in the Old Adobe school district and spent eight years on the School Board.
“I enjoy the people surrounding me in Aqua Aerobics which makes life wonderful!” Way to go, Patsy!
