TUFTS UNIVERSITY HEALTH AND LIFE SCIENCE CAREER FAIR

November 6, 2020 | 1 - 4 PM ET | Virtual Event
Registration is now open for the Career Center's Virtual Fair! Connect with employers and learn about internship and job opportunities.
The American Academy of PAs is the national professional society for PAs. It represents a profession of more than 140,000 PAs across all medical and surgical specialties in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, U.S. territories, and the uniformed services.

AAPA advocates and educates on behalf of the profession and the patients PAs serve. If you are considering a career as a physician assistant, you may want to join AAPA as a pre-PA member and get access to helpful tools and resources to learn about prerequisite courses, for applying to PA schools, application checklists and timelines and more!
VOLUNTEEER OPPORTUNITY
The global pandemic changed how we interact with one another and how we approach volunteer opportunities. Many organizations have pivoted away from in-person volunteering, but that does not make the virtual opportunities any less valuable to your development as a prehealth student!
Take a look at our list of over 100+ volunteer opportunities in the area. We will be updating this list throughout the semester, so be sure to check back often!
Here is one organization that has openings and can help you develop several competencies!
Multilingual Survivor Wellness Check Support Volunteer at the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute

The Survivor Wellness Checks Support Volunteer role is designed to offer support with practical and emotional needs, to the multi-lingual survivor community in the weeks, months and years after their loved one’s murder.
This is a virtual volunteer opportunity!
HOURS: Up to 3 hours per month, which are flexible to based on volunteer's availability.

SUMMER INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
For over 30 years, HCC has inspired and empowered the next generation of diverse health professionals. Through their paid, 10 week, full-time internship program with leading health care and public health employers, interns are provided an educational stipend and have the unique opportunity to:
  • Gain hands-on exposure and experience
  • Strengthen their network
  • Discover or affirm their health career direction
  • Find mentors
  • Develop professional skills
  • Secure jobs (70% are offered a fulltime job or extended internship)
  • Increase competitiveness for graduate education (Public Health, Medicine, Mental Health, and Business)

To ensure safe experiences for students during the COVID-19 pandemic, HCC works with host organizations to provide in person, hybrid, or virtual internships that comply with health regulations.

HCC is open to all undergraduate students and recent graduates. Students enrolled in graduate programs are not eligible to apply. HCC internships are open to all students and strongly encourage BIPOC students, first-generation students, and those from economically challenged and underserved backgrounds to apply.

To apply, students should submit their application and required materials by December 13, 2020.
Best,
Amanda and Ericka

Students who fail to cancel an appointment within 24 hours and do not show up will not be allowed to make a second appointment that semester.
Appointments slots are added to the online scheduling platform on Wednesdays. If you log on and there are no options available, it is because all available appointments have been booked. We ask that you do not e-mail the prehealth team to request additional appointments.
