Thank you to Ignite volunteers!

LLAs have had a great semester working with your students.

IGNITE: Last Saturday we attended UIC Ignite and met many newly-admitted students eager to hear about what our programs have to offer (photos below). Together, we introduced hundreds of new students and their families to the wide array of culture and languages LCSL provides, and were met with lots of enthusiasm! We look forward to officially welcoming them into our UIC community come August.

Outreach: Tutors/LLAs come from programs across UIC and our programs benefit students all over the university in many ways, from preparing them for the multiculturality of life, to providing skills in communication and teaching, and so much more. The LCLC is reaching out to professors and advisors in Math, CLJ, CADA, Psychology, etc. to let them know about their students’ accomplishments in language & culture courses: all of their students’ achievements demonstrate why they should encourage more of their students to get involved in language programs here at UIC.

Tutoring/LLA ends last week of classes: thank you once again to the 21 wonderful mentor instructors in 6 languages who support our 29 LLAs helping 700+ students! Remember to let your students know that drop-in peer tutoring is available if they want some extra help before they take on their exams and final projects.
