Why Do YOU Mask Up?With a vaccine on the horizon and hope in the air, we’re all looking forward to putting the pandemic behind us. But it’s important to remember that — for now — COVID-19 is still very much with us and spreading widely. Masks are required for those in shared spaces on campus. Help us spread the word! Send a masked photo of yourself and message about why YOU mask up using this submission form to be featured on PSU’s social media.

Suggested by Joe Soto, Student Success Advocate
"This book was recommended by a friend who teaches in Chicano/Latino Studies. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone interested in learning about the “borderlands” as a geophysical space and as a metaphor relating to the complexities of intersectionality within one's own identities.

This week I've been in a sort of sophomore slump. On our journey through the Era of COVID, we're not at the beginning--filled with anxiety and fear, but at least fueled by adrenaline--and yet we're too far from the end to really be able to believe in the light at the end of the tunnel. I am incredibly grateful to Ida Lombardozzi and the students, staff and faculty of Services for Students with Children, who allow me to serve as an ex-officio member of their Advisory Board. At last week's meeting, while herding little ones, cooing newborns and talking in hushed voices in order not to interrupt nap times, the folx on the call were highly engaged, very supportive and very very kind to one another. I ended that Zoom call feeling hopeful--both about the incredible importance of the work you all are doing with and for our students, but also in awe of the resilience of our students--who are holding fast to their hopes and dreams, even in the middle of our collective pandemic sophomore slump!
