TETRATHLON

LASER PISTOLS
DEADLINE: 10th November 2017

On behalf of the Pony Clubs throughout Western Australia, the Pony Club WA State Tetrathlon Committee are putting together a bulk order for Laser Pistols and Targets through Beaton Firearms. 

Please fill out the attached form for us to place an order on your behalf and negotiate the best possible price. The more we purchase the more discount will be applied, so your final invoice will be confirmed.   
The Pony Club WA StateTetrathlon Committees recommendations are the PP300 Laser Pistols, Hit & Miss for training and precision targets for the state championships.

Clubs and/or individuals can then order what they consider appropriate for their training purposes and budgets.

TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES

LASER PISTOLS
Throughout December and early 2018, the WA Pistol Association together with Pony Club WA will be offering a series of training events for all those interested in competing in the 2018 Pony Club WA State Tetrathlon Championships.

WAPA Clubs are also available for individual and club training, use the link below to find out where your local club is located. 

Training will be conducted in groups of 10 for 1 hour sessions at $10 per person.

FIRST AID TRAINNG
With the support of Racing and Wagering WA, Pony Club WA is offering First Aid Training to all Pony Club WA members. The course includes the following qualifications: 
HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
HLTAID002 Basic Life Support
HLTAID003 Provide First Aid
As well as some highly relevant information on Spinal Injuries post falls. 
This course will be FREE for all Associate Members and $85 for all others wishing to attend.

Masters of Dressage Freestyle to Music Masterclass presented by FEI 5* Judge Stephen Clarke  11th November 2017 SEC 6.30pm -9.30pm The evening promises to be full of beautiful horses, music provided by talented musicians and a few surprises.
Stephen Clarke will be joined by guest judge music specialist Ginny Creed.
Together they will show how music enhances performance.
Stephen will show how  the experts gain marks in the degree of difficulty.

Masters of Dressage Symposium 12th November SEC 10am - 2pm Stephen will work through the levels of training and show how this relates to coaches riders and judges.

Clear communication & understanding will produce  the best in performance.

Spectators will be invited to stay on and watch the final judging of the Horseland Young Horse EA Qualifier  hosted by Perth dressage Club Chief Judge Stephen Clarke.

FUNDING
Regional Athlete Travel Subsidy Scheme
The Regional Athlete Travel Subsidy Scheme (ATSS) supports talented regional athletes (i.e. resides outside the metropolitan area) aged 13 to 21 years to progress along their sport's development pathway.

Round 1 of the 2017/18 ATSS opened on Monday 16 October and closes Friday 17 November 2017. Applications can be made online for eligible events with start dates from 15 May 2017 to 15 December 2017.

Community Participation Funding
Community Participation Funding is available for initiatives from $1000 to $5000 that aim to increase the involvement of low participation groups in sport and active recreation. The low participation groups targeted through this scheme include culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) groups, Aboriginal communities, people with disability, disengaged youth, seniors etc.

If your project will be based in the regions, please discuss your ideas with your local Sport and Recreation (WA) regional office first to determine which regional grants are most appropriate for your project.

Lotterywest Trails Grants Program
Applications for Lotterywest Trails Grants are now open for not-for-profit organisations and local governments. To apply for a Lotterywest Trails Grant discuss the project with your local office and complete the grant application.

KidSport
Interested in getting your child involved in a sports club but can't afford it? Find out more on the KidSport program and how to apply.
KidSport – application process changes

From 1 August 2017 KidSport vouchers can only be used for club registration fees. Uniforms and equipment will no longer be eligible items for purchase within the $200 a year voucher.

Families with a valid have a Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card can now apply online. Hard copy application forms are still available for Concession card holders ONLY and can be submitted to local governments.

From 1 January 2017 families without concession cards will no longer be able to get applications signed off by Referral Agents. Families will need to meet with an approved KidSport Financial Assessor and demonstrate that they meet one of the four KidSport Financial Exceptions.

MODERN PENTATHLON

MODERN PENTATHLETE FUNDRAISING - TETRATHLON LASER PISTOL SESSIONS
Nikita Mawhirt is a dedicated Pony Club WA Tetrathlete who has recently qualified for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games for Modern Pentathlon. 
As part of Nikita's fundraising initiative to get to the games, she is now offering all Pony Clubs a chance to host an interactive session with her. These sessions will see Nikita sharing her story as an avid Tetrathlon competitor and her journey into Modern Pentathlon. She will also be giving demonstrations on the use of laser pistols, as well as coaching and training tips.

WHPC is seeking a Chief Coach for 2018  who has a passion for developing young riders and upholding the mission of Pony Club. Responsibilities include; coaching, managing and overseeing coaches, preparing riders and teams for State Pony Club WA Events and working with a dedicated committee. A  full description of the responsibilities of the Chief Coach can be found in the Club Governance section of the Pony Club WA Handbook available on the Pony Club WA website.

RIVERSIDE PARK PC ~ 2018 CHIEF COACH

Riverside Park Pony Club are seeking an enthusiastic and well rounded Chief Coach for 2018.
The main duties of the role involve working with the Rally Coordinator to ensure the PCA syllabus is adhered to and followed by coaches, working with riders to give them opportunities to obtain certificates across the year and working in collaboration with the committee in the everyday running of the club.
A strong knowledge in Pony Club is desirable and the club will provide you with opportunities to grow in your own coaching by supporting you through your NCAS PC Coaching Accreditation.
