The Utah Multicultural Commission and the Utah Division of Multicultural Affairs are excited to present a new newsletter segment in an effort to compile important resources and information related to critical sectors of state services. The Commission is a community-informed and policy-driven advisory body overseen by the Utah Division of Multicultural Affairs. This month's newsletter is focused on business resources and future emails will cover topics including health and human services, education, housing, and criminal and juvenile justice.

The goal of the Startup State Initiative is to tell the story of Utah as The Startup Capital of the World. Through a dynamic website, the initiative will unify statewide entrepreneurial efforts and showcase Utah’s entrepreneurial ecosystem to businesses and investors outside of Utah.

UTAH NEW AMERICANS TASK FORCE |
Utah Center for Immigration & Integration
|
The Center convenes and coordinates with key stakeholders (businesses, nonprofits, faith-based groups etc.) to educate and inform them on the issues facing Utah’s immigrant communities while uplifting immigrants' significant contributions to the state. One of the center's initiatives is the state's New Americans Taskforce, led in partnership with The Center for Economic Opportunity and Belonging, to maximize the economic opportunities, social inclusion, and civic potential for New Americans while reinforcing an environment of belonging in Utah.

Federal Contracting Support for Utah’s Businesses
|
The Utah APEX Accelerator’s mission is to help Utah businesses successfully compete in the government marketplace by providing knowledgeable and outstanding customer service. They support businesses in finding, bidding, and winning procurement opportunities with Department of Defense (DoD) federal, state, and local entities through one-on-one and group counseling.

The Utah Department of Commerce's Division of Professional Licensing welcomes new interest and enthusiasm from the community regarding recent changes in Utah’s professional licensing laws for people educated or trained in a foreign country. The state is taking steps towards ensuring that no unnecessary regulations prevent highly qualified, trained professionals from practicing in their field and serving Utah.

The Utah Multicultural Commission is a community-informed and policy-driven advisory body overseen by the Utah Division of Multicultural Affairs. It focuses on building relationships with state partners and community ambassadors to elevate the needs and concerns of historically underserved and underrepresented Utahns.
