For nearly five decades, relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) and the United States (US) and its key allies have been punctuated by episodes of conflict. The US government has imposed multiple rounds of sanctions on the IRI and designated it as a foreign country of concern in the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022.
This advisory provides a high-level overview of key features of the IRI’s science and technology (S&T) ecosystem to enhance situational awareness for the US research community and its research security professionals. |
