Ths month, Berkshire Lyric will appear with the Lyric Children’s Chorus and the young women’s choir, Melodious Accord. Their first two concerts will be at St. Mark’s Parish in Pittsfield on Friday at 7 p.m., and at Saint James Place in Great Barrington on Sunday at 3 p.m. The Family Christmas Concert—with a visit from Santa!—will be at the First Congregational Church in Stockbridge on December 17 at 3 p.m. Read more

Deer Tick

Alternative rock band Deer Tick will perform at the Mahaiwe Performing Art Center. Formed in Providence, R.I., the band has released seven studio albums. Singer-songwriter John McCauley, guitarist Ian O’Neil, drummer Dennis Ryan, and bassist Christopher Ryan bring nimble, textured sounds to their performances. The Holiday Shop, Sip & Stroll returns to downtown Great Barrington with fun activities for the whole family. Virginia Bradley will host a special Open Studio event in collaboration with carpet connaisseur Ezra Marcus. He will be displaying his exquisite Moroccan carpets alongside Bradley's Corallium series. Holiday Shindy

Sat Dec 10, 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
A sustainable craft tradition will take place in Pittsfield’s Upstreet Cultural District. For 15 years, the Holiday Shindy has showcased artisans from across the region, offering the chance to shop directly from local farms and makers, from soaps and tinctures to cookies and calendars. Longtime vendors and emerging talents will be on hand in The Common Room at Zion Lutheran Church. Winter Concert

Sat Dec 10, 3 p.m.
The Berkshire Children's Chorus will hold its winter concert, The Ballerina & the Clown, at Simon's Rock's McConnell Theater. The stunning show will include projected paper cuttings, dance to accompany the choral music, and special harp accompaniment. It brings together the children's chorus with Simon's Rock's chorus students. More info
