2023 PhD Graduates

Special congratulations to our two doctoral graduates, Nathan Baer and Tiffany Demiris, and their respective faculty advisors, Claire Zvosec, PhD, and Chad Seifried, PhD. 
Dr. Baer is now an Assistant Professor of Sport Management at Southeastern Louisiana University. Dr. Demiris is an Assistant Professor of Sports Management at St. Bonaventure University.

HUEY P. LONG FIELD HOUSE RIBBON CUTTING


On Tuesday, October 24, the LSU College of Human Sciences & Education hosted Governor John Bel Edwards and LSU leaders at a ribbon cutting ceremony, celebrating the Huey P. Long Field House restoration project.
As you know, our school is proudly housed in this remarkable building, and this renovation marks a new chapter in our journey of knowledge and discovery.

Kyle Killilea

KYLE KILLILEA


Kyle Killilea was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana. Kyle is a second-year master’s student in the Sport Management Program and will be graduating in December of 2023. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Grand Valley State University in 2020. At Grand Valley State, he was a member of the football team from 2016-2020 and a campus ambassador. Killilea is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). He was hired by Coach Troy Calhoun and Coach Matt McGettigan in October of 2023 at the Air Force Academy as an Assistant Strength Coach for the football program. Before Air Force, he was hired by Coach Brian Kelly and Coach Jake Flint as a Football Athletic Development Graduate Assistant at LSU in January 2022. During this time, he started in the Sport Management Master's Program at LSU. Prior to his arrival at LSU, Killilea was a Paid Professional Intern Football Strength & Conditioning Coach at the University of Notre Dame (June 2021-January 2022). Prior to Notre Dame, he was an Intern Football Strength & Conditioning Coach at the University of Cincinnati (January 2021- May 2022). Prior to Cincinnati, he was an Intern Strength & Conditioning Coach at Grandville High School in Grandville, Mich. (June 2020-November 2020). Killilea’s study interests are in Athletic Development and Organizational Theory. He hopes to continue his career in Athletic Development and Strength and Conditioning by using the lessons and experiences he has obtained from the Sport Management program at LSU. 
Sheldon Lee
SHELDON LEE

Sheldon Lee stands out not only as a dedicated Sport Management graduate student but also as the Director of Creative Content at South Stadium Productions, orchestrating external video production efforts for all Olympic sports and various athletic department initiatives.

Sheldon chose LSU for his graduate journey, drawn by the prospect of continuing his academic pursuits while leveraging his background as an Athletics Marketing Graduate Assistant at McNeese State University's MBA program from 2018 to 2019.

NATHAN BAER, PhD: SPORT MANAGEMENT, '23

In the dynamic world of sport management academia, the trajectory of individuals like Nathan Baer, PhD, stands out as an inspiring example. Baer's academic journey, from earning his BA in Psychology and German at North Central College to his current role as a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Sport Management at Southeastern Louisiana University (SLU), is marked by academic excellence and a passion for meaningful research.
