NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 12, 2024) – Americana jam band indie recording artist Ty StoneHawker (Stonehouse Entertainment) has released his new recording project GAMBLIN MAN. Poised to make his mark as a multi-genre trendsetter, appealing to audiences with an appetite for eclectic music entertainment, the Grammy-worthy project featuring six StoneHawker originals is AVAILABLE NOW via all major digital retail and streaming platforms.
Produced by famed Mark “Mooka'' Rennick (Tom Waits Journey/Ufo/Bob Dylan/Gavin Bryars/Billy Prine), the musical gem was recorded at Prairie Sun Studios (Greg Allman, Doobie Brothers, Journey, Van Morrison, Nine Inch Nails, Carlos Santana, Tom Waits, Wu-Tang Clan) and spotlights the extraordinary collaborative talents and musicianship of seasoned musicians Turnpike Troubadours and Zac Brown Band.
Beaming in authenticity and effervescence, StoneHawker entwines hints of blues, bluegrass, and country with a contemporary edge to finish. His masterful abstract musical conception revels in the singer/songwriter’s keen ability to take each listener on a profound getaway journey.
The tracks explore a musical panorama through a personal recollection and conceptualization of his life path. From whimsical, young and carefree, ten feet tall and bulletproof as the magistrate of his universe, to chasing stars, free-falling in love, the transition from merry-go-round to a runaway train, the crash and burn and return to self-preservation and love.
“Early in life, I risked it all. I took chances just for the euphoric thrill of it all,” StoneHawker said. “The thrill was a drug, and drugs became my muse. Ultimately, I became a prisoner at war with my soul; imprisoned by my addiction—and, literally, spent time behind bars. My life’s been a gamble. I threw a lot of years away, but now, clean and sober, I’m gamblin’ on me. Writing these songs was as therapeutic as it was a creative process; the CD title is apropos.”
Weighted in must-hear stimulating abstract lyrics, and musical textures, GAMBLIN MAN is a collection of simply brilliant arrangements and a true testament to StoneHawker’s frolicsome character, musical sophistication and taste. As an early introduction to the recording project, StoneHawker released the singles “Please! Please! Please!,” “Take Me To The Water” and “While You Are Gone” in his Spring Waterfall Series. To date, the tracks have enjoyed more than 1M cumulative Spotify streams and climbing.

ABOUT
Ty StoneHawker’s music is a vibrant tapestry of his personal experiences. From a groupie that followed jam bands in a 1978 lime green Volkswagen Microbus to becoming a popular radio personality (known as "Stoney" on 95.3 KPND) and sitting behind bars in a jail cell, his life story is as diverse as his music.
With a past both dark and fanciful, Ty's journey from turmoil to transformation has deeply influenced his musical artistry and affinity for the abstract. Drawing inspiration from an eclectic range of artists, he channels the psychedelic vibe of The Grateful Dead, the insightful lyrics of Bob Dylan, the energetic performances of Pearl Jam, the soulful melodies of Blind Melon, the classic sounds of Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Sturgill Simpson, Billy Strings, and his personal favorite, Phish. Ty’s deep admiration for songwriters like Ingrid Michaelson and Jack Johnson is evident in his lyrical craftsmanship.
Ty's life, mirroring his music, is a rich narrative of adventure, reflection, and the transformative magic of music, proving that a checkered past can lead to a luminous future.
Ty (aka Stoney Holiday and, more recently, Ty Holiday) caters to a wide range of genres (funk, reggae, progressive rock, psychedelic rock, folk, country, jazz, Bluegrass and blues). He has recorded and released various recordings throughout his career. Changing directions, heading toward a more purposeful and personal path, he recorded his six-song CD, titled GAMBLIN MAN.
