Welcome to the October Edition of the Comfort Connection!

October 10th is World Mental Health Day, so in recognition of that, we've gathered resources to help you (and your loved ones) learn more about Mental Health.
World Mental Health Day is an international day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma. It was first celebrated in 1992 at the initiative of the World Federation for Mental Health, a global mental health organization with members and contacts in more than 150 countries.

It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.

Caregiver of the Month

We are proud to celebrate Heather W. as our Caregiver of the Month!
Heather’s exceptional commitment to building meaningful connections with clients truly sets her apart. With 37 rewarding years as an LPN, she finds great fulfillment in supporting clients during challenging times, whether it’s through compassionate listening or offering a comforting hand.
Heather goes above and beyond to ensure that each client feels heard and valued. She provides more than just medical assistance; she creates a safe and comforting environment that fosters emotional support. Outside of work, Heather enjoys reading and cherishes quality time with her daughter and four grandchildren. As a dedicated fan of the Bombers for over 60 years, she brings passion and warmth to everything she does.
Congratulations, Heather, on this well-deserved recognition!

What we have been up to...

This month we had the pleasure of being the Welcome Sponser at the Deer Lodge Foundations Night in Nashville. Proceeds from this event will repair the existing 40-year-old courtyard to make it a more suitable and accessible environment for the patients and residents who call the Deer Lodge Centre home. This will enable them to re-establish a connection to nature and lift their mental and physical spirits. It is more than just an outdoor space — it will provide opportunities for socialization, meaningful activity and exercise, and support families and staff in the care of all the patients and residents.
