Tips for Grads

If you have school-aged children, now is the time to sign-up for summer camp in Madison. It may seem early, but spaces fill up quickly. Here are some popular options:
  • Madison School & Community Recreation (MSCR) offers many different types of camps all over the city during most of the summer for pre-school through high school aged children, with extended hours available.
  • YMCA Dane County offers several different camps on both sides of Madison for pre-school through high school aged children, and a discount for YMCA members.
  • Camp Shalom is the summer day camp of the Jewish Federation of Madison for elementary and middle school-age children.
The Madison City Moms Blog also puts together a summer camp guide each spring.
Many summer camps offer need-based financial assistance for families who would otherwise struggle to pay the full fee for camp. Even if it is not advertised on the camp’s website, it is always good to ask if any need-based aid is available.
